Best I've ever used
My jar cane with the paste almost solidified. I contacted Trend and they recommended I add a few drops of mineral oil. It worked great and the oil also helps to nourish the leather strop. It seems to adhere better to leather that's been conditioned. On dry leather, the paste becomes a fine powder that rubs away. With just 1 application, I can strop till the strop becomes black and shiny from being loaded up with metal particles. Using a simple pencil eraser, the shiny surface becomes matte again (but still dark grey) and I can continue to strop without adding more paste. Very aggressive and easily beats (by several orders or magnitude) green chromium oxide in speed, edge refinement and polish. Gentle stropping that takes forever? Not anymore, girlfriend. I strop hard and my knives' edges are sharper than they've ever been. And that's straight from a 2$ (yes, 2 dollars) 400-ish grit soaking stone. Definitely the best stropping compound I've ever used.

Good product, as description. Quite economical despite its cost.

Really does work.
I have been using this product for some time now and wouldn't be without it. I gave some to a friend and likewise feels the same it takes honing to another level.Regards John Hayes.

Does it's job but...
Does what's described and advertised however it needs to be applied to the strop EVERY single time as it dries out to a powder on the strop. The best option would be to buy a 4-6 micron diamond paste or solution that doesn't dry out within a few hours. Also claims that once the strop is loaded after several uses will last is false, all it means is that you've got a chalky residue drying your strop out. I wouldn't buy again.

Gives a great polish when stropping
I tried this product as an alternative to the usual big green block of polishing compound and its working well for me. It is only a small tub (30g), however you only use a thin smear over the stropping block and rub it in so the tub will last a fair while. I've used it on mostly kitchen knives for final polish and edge strop and have no issues with it in use. It certainly polishes the edge very well and gives a good finish, worth a go if you find loading the strop with standard compound a pain in the basckside.

Completely dry
Paste was completely dry so not useable. Such a shame as was really looking forward to using it after watching sharpening videos. Given the warnings on the outside of the jar about it's toxicity, I was quite alarmed when lots of loose powder spilled out when I first opened it, too??!!! Very disappointed.

Dry and does not work
Arrived hard, dried up and clumped up. Read up on the reviews and tried to add some mineral oil. Did nothing. Didn’t spread on the strop and didn’t do much when I did manage to get some of it on to the leather. Definitely wouldn’t buy again. Total waste of money.

I really love this paste. Especially great on my carving chisels. Works Great. Like others, mine dried up into a cake. I broke this up as best I could with a screw driver into very small fine pieces. The jar says Ammonia and Naphtha had been added. Had some on hand so I decided to give it a try. The paste is NOT cheap. I put 1/2 teaspoon each of Ammonia and Naphtha in the jar and worked it back into a paste with a small stick. Just like new. We'll see how long it lasts, but it put a great shine on my plane blade. Not sure the jar is as air tight as it could be. I might not be using it up fast enough. Beats throwing it out.

If you want "glassy sharp" edges, this is the stuff for you. My standard sharpening stones go to a 8000 grit but if you are sharpening a straight razor or special blade and want that ultra-smooth edge, get some of this stuff and apply it judiciously (in accordance with safety instructions) to a decent quality leather strop, employ carefully and you will get that wonderful ultra-smooth finish. Really impressed.

The paste was delivered as scheduled. I put a small amount on the leather strap, rubbed it in for two minutes on half the leather, and voilà after three passes on each side, my knife was “scary” sharp. I only wish that it was a bigger jar for the cost of 1.5 ounces. However, I will buy it again and again.

Made a leather strop to use this on for sharpening woodworking tools and a couple of kitchen knives. I’ve never managed to get as sharp an edge as I can now. And with so little effort. I use two grades of diamond stone (medium and fine) and then the strop. Five minutes and I’ve got a razor edge again! This paste cuts faster and nicer than the usual stropping compounds.
