It is very easy to recommend these boots because I am thoroughly impressed with how much boot this is at this price point. I've walked miles in them without any breaking in discomfort. I can wear these all day long and I am nearly as comfortable as I would be in tennis shoes. Today I spent an hour in 8" deep snow and my feet were dry and when I finally took these boots off my socks were still dry ~ my feet were warm and dry the entire time (sweat was not trapped inside and the water soaking the bottom of my pants did not seep in. What I like ~ • Good looking in all black, no garish logos or trademarks ~ I could wear these just about anywhere. They don't look too military but they'd do fine as part of a tactical outfit. They don't look like a hiking boot but they've got good traction and and stay dry. They don't look too dressy but being all black with good lines, they could be worn in places many active boots can't. • Comfortable ~ I'm wearing this with my standard calf length socks and I am fine. I've not felt the need to wear my hiking socks, even when they were brand new. • Good wet traction ~ came in after working in the snow and did not have issues on our wood floor. Traction outside was excellent and traction inside was about as good as my siped shoes. • Fully enclosed lace up loops vs. the quick lace styles that get caught on things sometimes. • Good looking box presentation if keeping the box is your thing. • Lift in height over regular shoes ~ I'm already 6'4" so I really don't really need lift but I'm happy to play the game. What I don't like ~ zero deal breakers here • The only thing that I could think to point out is that the loop for pulling them on barely fits my index finger. It takes deliberate aim to get my finger in there to pull them on. One should be able to do this effortlessly but with these it requires conscious effort. • the
