This Honeyed Korean Red Ginseng Slices seems to be a quality product made with care. The packaging specifies it is made from 6 year old roots. I have seen some less expensive Ginseng products recently, but I understand that it is normally a fairly expensive root. The honeyed slices come as 6 small individually sealed packages with approximately 12 slices each. The suggested serving is 2 slices 3 times per day. The honey adds a light sweetness to the root and balances the natural bitterness but doesn't cover it completely. I do not find the flavor unpleasant. The honey also provides some moisture to the root. The slices are not dry and hard like you might expect. Instead, they are tender yet chewy. It may be important for some to know that fish collagen is one of the ingredients, with Rohu and Tilapia listed on the packaging.

I have been feeling drained and tired lately and was very curious about the CheongKwanJang brand Honeyed Korean Red Ginseng Slices and since I prefer natural remedies, I'm giving it a try. It is marketed as a healthier snack supplement for more energy, immunity (health) and overall performance for "quick energy boosts." I tried it and believe there is validity to the energy boost aspect. The packaging is quite remarkable and what you would expect from a higher-end price point. It arrived in a box primarily in Korean inscription with 6 individual boxes that each box contained a sealed packet of about 20 grams of flavored red ginseng. As for the flavor, the marketing product description states, "Treat your taste buds to the unique chewing sensation paired with the rich flavor of CheongKwanJang Honeyed Korean Red Ginseng Slices." This would be factually accurate as the flavor is definitely a "unique chewing sensation." The texture is that of a dried fruit product (like a fruit roll-up - if you regard that as "fruit"). The ginseng is broken up into various pieces in the package. Now the flavor is not bad. I have never had ginseng before and have nothing to compare it to. It is quite bland with a slight bitter aftertaste that doesn't last too long. As a healthy snack alternative, it's on par with expectations. However, I wasn't tasting anything similar to the sweetness of honey. Overall, the price point is quite significant but this is the coveted red ginseng and a reputable Korean product. I will be taking this product to work to help with my energy and this ginseng will definitely keep me from snacking on the unhealthy sweet and salty stuff that I don't need.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I've never had ginseng slices, only ginseng tea or tinctures. This product sure has impressive packaging! Most of the writing is in Korean, however, the product weight, expiration date, description are all in english. There's also a nice information pamphlet included, which is multi-lingual and tells you all about the product along with suggested dosage. There are 6 lovely boxes & inside each is a sturdy foil packet that contains the honeyed ginseng slices. There's a cut line at the top to open w/scissors but I was able to just tear it open. They include adhesive strips to use on the opened packets in order to close & keep them fresh. Very thoughtful. The ginger slices are slightly smaller than a US quarter. They smell nice, fresh & a bit earthy. The flavor is mild. I didn't notice the honey very much, it's quite subtle. I do like the flavor though, the honey does help the normally blah flavor of ginseng. It's a root, of course, so you get that in the texture, it's not soft but a bit of work to chew on. Not taffy chewy either. The directions say to chew it & not just swallow it. It took a couple of minutes. I didn't mind. I ate two of them & did feel a bit more energetic afterwards, which is what I was hoping for. There were zero adverse effects or stomach upset, which I appreciate. I'm sensitive to some things & have to be careful. Overall, I do like these Honeyed Korean Red Ginseng slices & will continue taking them.

Not the first ginseng product I've tried and this is definitely the real deal. The slices are slightly sweet, but not overly so (it's not candy). You still get the classic ginseng flavor -- earthy with a hint of bitterness -- it's just been mildly sweetened. It comes with 6 sealed packs, each with several slices inside. The packs are not resealable, but come with a stickers to close the pack. The overall packaging is very well done. It's almost a shame the packs are self-sealing ziploc-style bags as the stickers are probably the least thought-out part of the packaging. I don't exactly know what constitutes a "dose", but presumably you're not meant to eat a whole pack at once given both the price and the closure stickers.
