Not a companion to ham maker
Amazon suggested that people who bought ham maker bought this book. No instructions with ham maker and nothing in this book either. No mention of it or any help how to use it. Not really any recipes just suggestions. Thank goodness for youTube-could have saved money. Book must have originally been ebook and couldn’t take you to the information, may have been there somewhere but what I needed wasn’t.

Has more other recipes than meat press recipes.
I was expecting meat press recipes, but it only contain a few. But the recipes in it sound good and I'll be trying them.

Not a great cookbook
I expected lots of recipes - especially regional European and ethnic fare - but only very basic stuff. You could scan QR codes at the end of the book to go to on-line recipes and videos - maybe I should have just done that to begin with and saved the money

For Those Wanting Low Sodium You Will Have To Adjust The Recipes
The author states she was amazed at what she found in lunchmeat ingredients and set about to find ways to make her own to control what went into the food she and her family were eating.I'm in a few groups where people bemoan how much sodium is in store bought lunch meats and want alternatives to have in their sandwiches. Unfortunately, this author does recommend sea salt and one of the methods she uses is brining (which involves salt), so those looking for low salt options may have to experiment with some of the other techniques and spice blends to get items to their particular taste.I thought she did a good job explaining the various methods she uses. She includes some spice blend recipes as well as a few recipes for various meats (with each having a savory, spicy, and sweet option).I did not know there was a tool called a "ham maker" until I read this book. And despite us thinking of ham as a pork product, the author claims you can use the ham maker on other meats as well.
