Well made, good quality
Bought this in a pinch as a pig snare and upon arrival I was immediately impressed by the quality. I was expecting it to be lightweight and cheaply made but not so. Its stainless steel construction and heavy duty thick gauge cable will handle any animal of any size and temperament. Cable locking mechanism is also very heavy duty and strong. No worries about the cable slipping and the animal getting free. Once you have them, they're not getting free until you release them. Very happy with the purchase. Would buy again if needed but this thing should last my lifetime and probably the lifetime of my daughter.

No, it's terrible
The pole is about 2 feet.That alone is a very negativequality, cause a person willhave to bend to use & keepthe animal close. (Also notethat could be dangerous ifworking with an animal witha behavior issue or unknown.)The slip cord is very small.Will work for smaller dogsfrom chihuahuas to yorkies,but it certainly won't fit onlarge dogs. I would think it'sgoing to be uncomfortablefor medium size dogs likepit bulls.[Perhaps they intended this polefor short people catching rats. SMH]The locking mechanism worksbut is tight and difficult. Thehandle to pull & retract is afairly good design, but withall the other negatives itdoesn't work well.Remember that you need 1 handto secure the pole, & anotherto pull the cord back. Because thelock is so difficult, it feels likeintended for people with 3 hands....which none of us are.There is also a nice handle...however the location is notwhere a person would comfortablyand securely by holding sucha pole.It's a cheap Chinese productand should be skipped over.Even though I didn't think it was good,I tried to keep it, but it couldn't evenhold a chihuahua. So I'll be sendingit back.
