perfect replacement for same model no longer working
This item arrived on time(paid extra for this). Removed the old one and installed the new one in a couple of hours(due to location, it was longer than expected). Instructions and owners manual make it easy to install.

Perfect for full-time travel in our RV
We have a residential refrigerator in our 5th wheel travel trailer. I knew the single 12 volt battery that came with the trailer would not be enough when we are traveling across the country. I got this inverter/converter and 6 6 volt golf cart batteries. It does an amazing job of running our fridge and keeping things cold on the road and we still have plenty of battery left when we stop at the end of a day of travel. We added solar on the roof and with the two combined we never have to run the generator at the end of the day even after two days of travel (unless we hit large areas of cloudy rainy days. It is out of the way and out of mind. It just works. It is great because it takes care of all the switching when plug into power or when we are running on generator.

NO Customer Service
Absolutely (0) None customer support. I received the product with no issues and installed it without difficulty - this is my third inverter/charger. The first died of old age. The second lasted six years before it got wet and killed the controller boards. This one should have been a drop-in no-brainer. The problem began when it would not recognize a 'Validated' power source - meaning 110v shore power. Yeh, tell me what that means? The documentation was as clear as MUD and there was absolutely NO trouble shooting instructions other than to "factory reset". This meant it ran in inverter mood, which work perfectly, but I could not charge my batteries. Yes I tested the power all along the path, and at connection points to the inverter I got ~120v ground to hot and hot to neutral and 0v neutral to ground. So I thought, let me call customer support in inquire about what the hell a 'valid' power source is. Fourteen (14) calls over 4 days later I never spoke to a single person. I left call-back a number as instructed and waited for a call-back. NOPE. At one point I was third in the queue at 09:00 and never got a call back. I thought I would out-smart the system and call the Sales department, they will always answer...I was first in the queue but had to leave a call-back number after holding for ~45 minutes. Never got a call-back!I'm sure the product is great and my problem was something simple but not covered in the installation and troubleshooting guide, but...I don't care how good the product is, without customer service it is worthless. Oh, not to mention the almost $700 restocking charge. This was very expensive lesson. I have wasted many days, and dollars, with this product and can't recommend it to anyone for any reason. Before I purchased my second choice inverter/charger from AIMS Power I called their support line and got a technician on the second ring. He is probably still laughing after I told him why I was calling.PS. I did receive a call-back at 21:00 two days after I had shipped the product back.

Easy upgrade from a 458 D20
If you're like me and have a recently deceased 22+ year old Freedom Combi 458 (with dual external breakers on your front case) you're stuck considering a replacement. We are full time RVers who primarily boondock, our inverter is heavily used and I wanted an easy upgrade path. The SW3012 went in easy and the only slight modification was the tip I got from Xantrex to jumper the primary AC input 1 to the secondary AC input 2 as my Freedom 458 was single in dual out. This properly activates both outputs and apart from this slight modification the install was no harder than matching wires to their ports.I ended up mounting it horizontal to expose the ports better in my small electrical bay.

Early
Even after checking the arrival date, and wow to my surprise the inverter arrived today on a Friday instead of the Monday projected delivery date. Great! Thank you. The inverter is not connected yet, but I expect it will work at least as well as the one I'm replacing. I appreciate the seller sending it so quickly. Zantrex is high quality and pricey, but yo get what you pay for.

Replaced an older inverter/charger
Inverter replaced another Xander Freedom inverter we had in our Rv. It’s working great so far! We had it installed by a RV specialist to make sure everything was hooked up properly. Happy with the purchase. We might have been able to install it, but didn’t want to take a chance. As for the value! Yikes, everything has gone up.
