All you need to know: It's the best pro evo yet
Things that i don't like about PES3:- they haven't fixed the PES2 bug where perfectly legal sliding tackles are penalised, which is annoying.- The lack of names is diabolical, even for PES: Alright, so they've now got the correct names for Brazil and all the major national sides (plus even some of the Italian club sides are FULLY licensed a la FIFA) but for everyone else the commentary name is "number _". Konami need to sort this out, because it's an insult to the intelligence of their customers. That's about all i don't like. The second gripe isn't a disaster as you can still change all player names in edit mode. It will take a long time to change all the names, however. There are too many good things about this game to list; all i can say is that Konami have clearly reviewed every aspect of PES2 and ironed out the little niggles that dogged that game. For example, you can no longer find 'sweet spots' where you can almost guarantee a goal if you shoot from a certain angle. In fact, it's actually really hard to score in PES3 - you actually have to use your skill and judgement to pick holes in your opponent's defence, just as you would in real life. Even people who have played PES2 may be taken aback by how difficult it is at first. Needless to say, however, once you figure it out you soon realise how close to real football it is.The controls feel far more sensitive. They take time to get accustomed to, but you soon find that they allow a greater range of control than ever before. Long passes are now a breeze so you can spread the ball all over the field; chipping seems more accurate, and Konami have reintroduced the x button feint from PES 1 which i love. You can also flick the ball over your player's head, which can aid in scoring some truly fantastic goals.

Excellent, but PES2 is more fun
I would recomend owners of PES2 to stick with it for another year- I wasnt really tired of that game when PES3 came along and I think the improvement was smaller than between PES1 and 2.The opponent AI is the greatest achievement this year- computer controlled players are more aggressive like human players and scoring goals is even more difficult, requiring fast passing moves followed by a 1st time shot to break down a tight defense.I agree with other reviewers who say the game is too fast and frantic now, making it feel more arcadey than the previous game.Animation is excellent and the general gameplay as pollished as any sports games. However too many gameplay niggles remain which can be very frustrating when they are punished with losing possession or conceding a ludicrous goal. Overall, great stand-alone game, but Id have missed this one out and bought the next one!

Best Footy Game Out on PS2
After years of playing FIFA games, I was a little reluctent at buying this game after reccomendation.I always like real names for teams and players, but its so easy to change in Pro Evo' I didnt notice. You can also change the commentry names so that when they are said its correct. You make your own players up also so YOU play. Kits can be changed, as can the club badges. In game, you can set the atmosphere in the ground and whether its for the home team or away, as well as the commentry stance its ACE.Also in game there is easy strategies as well as button configuration. The game play is so real, player fall and actually handball in some situations. The players expressions are ace and Alan Shearer actually celebrates like real life.GET IT AND GET IT NOW!!

Good but flawed like hell
This was the point in the series where it really got popular. Huge. The gameplay was fresh back then, and it combined the realism football games were lacking with the arcady feel everyone loves. Pot-shots, classy volleys and nice tricks are the best PEs 3 can offer. But the great gameplay was constantly haunted by other problems. Let's start with the cover. Pierluigi Colina couldn't hide the fact that PES 3's referees were awful. And by awful i mean REALLY awful. The game has, like in this year edition, PES 2011, an unremarkable hard time recongnising whether we hit the player or the ball. I've seen many players being booked when making clean tackles. Also, situations where red cards are shown for doing nothing all and, on the other hand, being completly beaten up for the ref just to say "play on" happens too much for a game that claims being the king of football.Licenses are lacking too, but you'd eventually get used to it, thanks to the nice edit mode.Overall, the game is good but it's incredibly frustrating to the point where i just smashed my game disc against the wall in anger. If your considering getting this then don't. Choose PES 4, 5 or 6, those are ligh years ahead of this.

Better than pro 5
This game is better than pro 5. it gives you so much freedom. somtines you feel like you are watching man u and barcalona. i would recomend you get this. very cheap price. the only con is that there are not that many real player names and teams. if you have the money then get pro 6 but if you don't then get this. (pro 5 is not brilliant like this)

Just the best!
A new item as advertised and sent out promptly. One of my favourite games and glad to be able to get it new. A great game with 20-year career mode in club mode & plenty of international games too.

Battle of the Titans Huggies Vs Doubtfire
PES 3 is mustard lad! There's nufin beta than craking open a few Fink Brau, wit your closest Homeboy on a Friday nite, & playing until your hearts content, on a masterpeice of a game.True..Names could be legit, but other than that, the gameplay itself is vely vely good! And i always have so much fun (like de did) when playing. My only other real gripe..even though it is ever so small is that....CAMEROON HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD!!!And when this happens it makes me wanna go on a shiving spree Gary Walls style, and go Loko up in turpins.Gerry's Final Thought.......This game is 'DE DOG'S B*LLOCKS!!
