I fell in love with this after the first application. I'm fair skinned so unfortunately, I don't tan easy. I'd say the first application allows you to look a little sunkissed but you can build it up to a really natural deep, believable (not orange) tan. It does have the tendency to be patchy if you don't exfoliate properly but that's to be said with all gradual tans. The only criticism I'd say is to not use it on the face if your skin has the tendency to be dry, save the risk and just buy a matching foundation. There is a smell, but if you are a Bondi Sands user I'd say its less prominent than that, I actually quite like it. This lasts a while too, I'd say 4 - 5 days if you don't top up and it doesn't just wash off in the shower you gotta scrub! I have very sensitive skin and find this doesn't irritate me, which is a rarity. I also love the fact it doesn't stain hands if you wash it off properly, saves you getting mit out! I normally do before bed and by the morning it has developed quite well. You need to exfoliate and get nice and smooth. If you don't use a mitt it does go a bit patchy but if put on evenly it looks very natural. So yeah two applications on the two days before you go.
