Popular Sax Solos

I bought this as it has scores for some of my favourite sax solos in. They were in there and readable but that is where the good part ends.The scores are transcribed for either alto sax or tenor sax and this is indicated on the scores. However, the editor has clearly never played either instrument as the scoring takes the instrument out of the playable register in many instances (Bad to the Bone going to the second C above the stave as one example and there are many more.)The score is *exclusively* the saxophone part with chords written above the stave. There are no lyrics or other context for how the part fits in to the rest of the music.So be aware when you buy. It is a very specific product.

I googled, easy tunes for sax, they weren't. Disappointing.

Books Ok but Only the Sax sole part so quite exspensive for what it is but not all of the music books for sax have the solo included in the song sheet so just be awere.

If you are buying this kind of book, you are almost certainly a relative newcomer. As such, you will own one saxophone - not an alto, and a tenor, and a baritone, and a soprano. Trouble is, this book has arrangements for all four types, so likely most of them will not be right for the horn you own.Its not a BAD book - but there are so many books out there dedicated to ONE type of sax, you will be better off buying one of those.

Fantastic collection of 54 Alto & Tenor Sax pop/rock solos from tunes by Billy Joel, Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Bowie, Pink Floyd, and many others. The cover suggest for tenor sax, but about 50% are written for alto.

Produce well.
