Apparently, buying 6-packs of the 3.53 oz is the cheapest per ounce. Going with the 7 oz tins results in a higher price per ounce, probably because of the sales volume of the smaller size. Some people complained when Twinings reformulated their Earl Grey back around 2011. I spent my teen years in the UK and fondly recall this as my favorite tea. I like the new blend even better, having a stronger bergamot flavor. I find this makes for a more refreshing and invigorating cup of tea due to the stimulating effects of the terpenes found in bergamot. With a Royal Appointment going back a couple centuries, you can never go wrong with Twinings. The Queen herself starts every day with a cup of this blend and, don't forget, Earl Grey was the beverage of choice for Captain Jean Luc Picard, as well as a favorite of Patrick Stewart. The company is finally working on their ethics as well and, while they are a bit late to the game, I believe, in time, the ethical questions about their trade and labor practices will go away. As a consumer, I am willing to accept the increase in price that comes with ethical production standards.

My favourite tea but very hard to find these days in loose tea form. That's the flavour I've bee missing.

Twinings is wonderful tea! For those that are wondering, I went into their main shop in London and asked. It's pronounced "Tw-eye-nings". Each time I order this, Amazon sends me a single can. Customer service is quite good in that I get ahold of them and they send me another pack of 6. So it takes a bit of time, but you get a bonus can.

If you are new to brewing this tea, or loose leaf tea in general, let me tell you that this is the right number of tins in the right size for the right price. The only way you won't agree, is if you have some great use for a million tins in the larger size. Personally, I keep all my tins, and this size is the most useful for storing small things with a lid. I have even used the tins for sprouting beans. However, the primary benefit is in freshness. I was ordering larger tins for a while, but it seemed like the distribution of bergamot flavor was a little inconsistent in a way where I questioned the freshness. In these smaller tins I have experienced 100% consistency in the potency and blend of the flavor from one end of the first tin to the last of the sixth tin. This is the only way and kind of tea I order tea now.

This loose tea product from Twinings was like all their other offerings a good medium grade tea for the money spent. I di find myself adding a little bit more tea than usual in order to bring out the bergamot, in my opinion they could have used a little more bergamot oil. A good deal economically, but if you drink lots of tea like I do, you get a bigger bang for your buck if you buy the 2.2 lb bags of loose tea from Harrowsgate. Nice tins, can be used for many other things when empty, a tip I fill mine with pennies and nickels and then give it to a nephew or niece when they come over to visit. Also good to do the same filled with Hershey kisses or hard candies, little toys, etc.
