Know you PCIE requirements
I bought this CPU after a budget driven evaluation of the non pro version. My performance findings was that the non pro version did not support enough PCIE lanes. The same also applies to the motherboard I was using. My performance target is for an Adobe Photographers Suite. I had installed a 40 gigabyte per second NIC in both the NAS and the motherboard. I found the NIC operating at only 20 gigabytes, not 40 (not enough PCIE lanes in the non pro system). With the right hardware in place this has excellent performance. I would recommend this product.

Terrible thermal design - no decent cooling solutions
At full load, with an RTX4090 GPU in the same case, there are no thermal solutions on the market that will adequately cool this CPU. You will have to throttle it to keep it within safe thermal limits, so the CPU frequency metrics are actually just dishonest marketing. Sure, you CAN reach the max frequencies, but only for about 30 seconds until the CPU overheats and thermal throttling kicks in. I've tried 3 different coolers on AMD's official list of supported coolers, and none of them are capable of actually cooling this CPU at full load. Very disappointed, and wish that I had other options, but unfortunately my motherboard requires AMD TR Pro.

INCORRECT Socket in listing. Should show "sTR5", not "WRX90".
INCORRECT Socket in listing! This can cause confusion. The listing shows the "CPU Socket" as "WRX90", but that is the chipset this CPU is designed to work with. The CORRECT SOCKET is "sTR5".HELLO AMAZON and SELLER!!! PLEASE CORRECT THIS! Thank you.

This is a great entry-level CPU for people looking to fine-tune models that require more than 8GB of VRAM efficiently. If you're using this for gaming instead of data management, you are buying the wrong product.

Fantastic HEDT processor
Ok, we need to cover some basics. This is a great processor, but if you are buying it for gaming, you are going to miss out on the key purposes. For content creation, video creation, CAD/CAM work and data services, this really nails it. Before we get off on the idea this is going to set you back and unable to be cooled, I've deployed these with no issue at all regarding thermal throttling. You can utilize good coolers. Using the Artic 4U-M and the NH-U14S or if you've got a 4U, use the NH-D9 TR5-SP6. That said, there are other solutions as well... but all of those have worked flawlessly with no thermal throttling. If you want to go all out, you can grab a SilverStone XE360-4677, and get the SP6 bracket for it.Whene it comes to where we are in comparison to Xeon and other HEDT options, the Threadripper is pumping out a lot less heat and strong performance. Performance per watt remains incredible for what you are doing.

Runs too hot.
Can't get the cpu as another reviewer mentioned to stop throttling under heavy load.
