All in one convenience
This bad boy is primo 🤌While each individual effect might not be the best sounding or most tweakable version available, having them all in one box is EXTREMELY convenient. Every effect (except the sitar) does what it's supposed to with enough room to adjust it more or less your liking. And because the parameters are saved onboard there's no fiddling with knobs before each show to make sure you're dialed in.Using scenes can give you wildly different sounds you can switch between instantly if you've got some lush soundscapes you're working with. With a single footswitch you can change amps, effects, parameters, signal chain, you name it. When you get that sound just right you can save the entire fx chain exactly as it is with just a couple button presses.Pedalboard mode is my preferred mode and is exactly what it sounds like. Set up your amps and fx chain and everything stays right where you left it, no need to press save. You can program in additional commands so you can swap out your amps or fx and essentially have a whole nother pedalboard setup with the press of a button. Like all boss pedals it's built solid and after a year of misuse and abuse I've never had an issue with it 👍

It's holding the crown for me right now
I have them all. Every kind of amp, gadget, pedal, modeler, and software program. After playing guitar for over 46 years, this is my favorite setup. The IR capability got much better when they moved the functionality into Tone Studio (finally). And Tone Studio is the best.BOSS has served me well for decades. I cannot complain.

It replaced my Marshall
I've played electric guitar for 40 years. I've always been a "tube-only or bust" kind of guitarist. I tried several pedal setups over the years and always ended up back with a full tube amp. I heard good things about the new generation of effects processors (important to note, this is a floor mount effects processor, not a pedal box) and getting too old to cart around a stack. I haven't touched any of my Marshalls since purchasing this processor.I wasn't too impressed when I first plugged it in, mainly because I just used the factory patches. You have to dig in a little to find what you want. The Boss Tone Studio (aka Tone Central) is the place to start. It'll depend on your style and equipment, but I love the Simon McBride Collection. The beauty is that, through the bluetooth connection, you and use a smart device to access all you patches, modify, save, and most importantly, try other patches made by the pros. I found some great sounds then made small adjustments from there. Here's a couple of big notes:- I can't emphasize how huge the bluetooth connection is--I don't have to sit on my knees changing the effects chain; I can edit everything from a large tablet. Hallelujah!- Be careful what you run it through. If you are doing anything other running the XLRs straight to a board/PA (i.e., if you're plugging into another guitar amp) you will have an amp emulation, speaker emulation, mic position and type emulation (all from the Boss) going through another amp with it's own speakers/sound. In other words, you'll be running an emulated amp sound into an amp that already has its own sound. The result is a over processed "muddy" sound. I think this is why a few folks don't like the sound from this processor. If you're going to run it through another amp, I suggest going straight to the power amp (i.e., bypass the preamp) and turn off the speaker cab emulation in the Boss.- I suggest purchasing a full range flat response (FRFR) powered speaker. That will allow the Boss to come through the speaker just about as good as it sounds in headphones. I use one for my monitor since it sounds the same as what's going to the board. There are some decent ones out there for $200-400 (Headrush are good value).-If you don't like the sound, it's you or your equipment, not the Boss. You'll need to get into the processing chain and learn about how it all works (don't forget the cab and mic emulation at the end of the chain!!). I often find that changing one parameter will go from the "ugh" feeling to "ooh yeah."-While I won't be selling my Herbert anytime soon, the GT-1000 basically replaces everything else!Hope this helps!JB

Really impressive effects and amp modeling
The diversity of effects and sounds that you can get out of this thing is really impressive. The hardware also feels very sturdy and well-made. While the on-device and computer UIs aren't the most intuitive, it's not too hard to get the hang of it after a few hours of playing around. I was a bit skeptical about how good the effects and amp modeling would be, but it's truly incredible. Also, the price tag feels a little high at first, and I definitely hesitated, but you'd have to spend a small fortune on gear to accomplish half of what you can with this one effects board. If you're looking for a versatile, all-in-one effects & amp sim device, definitely consider this.

Boss GT-1000
I use a lot of Boss multi-pedals and wondered if this was worth the money, it is! You can run this from your phone, laptop, or computer, making set up and changes simple!

Awesome
There's not much you can't do with it. I'm almost a newb, and I still love this thing. I was initially worried after reading one of the reviews, but after using it myself, I think that person just ran it through a lousy amp or has a junk guitar. I can't judge what i don't know. I've gotten a lot of quality sounds/effects out of it.

This thing is incredible!!
I finally broke down and picked up one of these bad boys. I’ve just scratched the surface of its versatility. The AIRD technology is revolutionary. It’s full of beautiful boss tones and patches. I have owned the me-50, me-80 and a plethora of boss pedals. The gt-1000 blows the other multi effects units out of the water. High quality, worth the money.
