Expensive for very old product version
Although this kit was fun to make and worked first time I was very disappointed to find out that for £30 (and no case) the seller shipped such an old product. I received a product with the main board version "H", analogue board "F" and firmware version -110 (This is a Dec 2018 release!!). Jyetech now sell a product with the main board version "I" and analogue board "J" and several firmware versions later -116. On firmware version 110 the oscilloscope performance is relatively poor although it can be updated to 116 using details available on the Jyetech website. Software and a serial USB converter is required to do this but updating the firmware on my unit was successful and improved the performance. It also unlocked some additional features. I had intended to purchase a case for this unit but again because the boards are so old a suitable case is not available to purchase in the UK. The switches on the older analogue board are top facing rather than front facing and therefore a case where the top has slot cut-outs for both the switches and buttons is necessary. I have not been able to find such a case as the new type has slots cut into the front panel only for the buttons. In summary, I enjoyed building the kit and it works fine but for the price it's a bit of a rip-off when much newer boards are available. My product didn't even come with a on/off switch where the newer boards now have this fitted. Nooelec need to update their stock or charge much less!!
