As someone who's had a beard off and on for the better part of a decade, I've gone through my fair share of beard products. For the most part they're all very similar. The washes for the most part clean and leave a very squeaky clean (almost dry) feeling out of the shower. Conditioners help a bit after a wash, but not anything to write home about, the only one I've tried that I really liked was Scotch Porter.Oils help in hydrating, some are excessively oily and just don't look very appealing. Balms will help tidy up the overall shape of the beard, some are not really strong enough and just end up being another layer of oil on the wiskers.Ok, now for this review... So I believe this to be the most natural and most effective line of products I've found to date. First off, the wash, oh my, the wash... I could really just stop right there. This is my favorite of the line.It leaves my beard so soft I find myself not wanting to ruin it with a conditioner. If you try just one of these product, the wash is a must.Next we have the detangler, this is pretty much a leave in conditioner. It softens out the beard even further and adds a slickness to the beard, it feels great.The oil in the set is probably unnecessary since the wash and detangler do such a great job, but in any case it is a quality oil. The reason I say this is because it doesn't really stay oily in the hair, you can feel that after initially applying, it does absorb into either the follicle or skin, whichever it's intended to. As I mentioned, there are some oils that just don't do that, it's just greasy all day long.The balm is probably my least favorite of the line, but only because it's not a very strong holding balm. It's kind of like I mentioned, another layer of oil. This one does also absorb so it's ok. I prefer a more tacky balm with more wax rather than oils.Also, the scent of this line is a subtle chocolatey vanilla kind of smell. It's a very pleasant scent that my wife also enjoyed initially. However after about a week or so of using the product, I no longer get so much as a whiff, which is fine, I find that to be common with many of these beard oils and such.So, overall a great set of products that leave my beard feeling soft and hydrated all day long, it also feels like quality, in the sense that it does absorb. It doesn't feel like you just applied baby oil all over your face. I cannot stress this point enough, there are some "name brand" beard care product that feel as such. That's why this product line really stands out to me. Five stars...

A few months ago I decided to grow my beard out upon being clueless with beard care I googled, watched hundreds of YouTube videos, read a million reviews and decided to get a beard kit which there our thousands to choose from but my research brought me to "Shea Moisture Complete Beard Kit" I have been using for about a full month now so will go through the full line up!The Wash - I think this is the most important of the line because most men use regular hair/women products for their beard BIG mistake why do you wanna smell like lavender and sunflower seeds all day brah? This wash cleanses the skin under your beard for growth, you don't need a lot of product for use so it last longer and it makes your beard look healthy!The Detangler/Conditioner - Honestly I love this stuff it works like a charm after the first use it makes your beard look FULLER, less patchy, more soft, easier to manage for groomingThe Oil - Beard oil is perhaps one of the most important things you can do for your beard this oil keeps it moisturized, conditions it, makes it soft so your beard doesn't feel like a Brillo pad all dry and looking like trash on your chin and it also stops the itching of growing a beardThe Balm - At first I didn't really care for the balm because I didn't know or understand how important it is when you go out, on a date, or just to take the trash out! This has the right ingredients to style your beard, tame your beard, and learn your beard, it's thick and firm enough to hold and last all day great every day toolThis product line is designed for black men, we have different hair, different textures so we need different care for our beards! It's all natural, smells AMAZING, and it has great ingredients just read them! Don't be fooled by these other beard products that are MORE expensive and does LESS work than you need for your beard game! Great price point, great company/brand, and great results what more can you ask for??? So STOP using your wife's products and become a MAN!

What I like:- smells great- makes beard very soft and moisturized- a little amount goes a long wayWhat I dislike:- No instruction manual for the kitThis product is very nice. I've been in the market for a good beard kit for about 2 years now. This kit is exactly what I was looking for. Since the kit lacks a instruction manual, I'll list my steps here.Step 1: Thoroughly wet your beard and apply a dime sized amount of the beard wash shampoo to your beard. Massage it in and then rinse out the beard shampoo. PAT DRY your beard with a towel, DO NOT rub it dry with a towel. Your beard should be nice and soft at this point.Step 2: Brush your beard with a beard brush and then apply a dime sized amount of the detangler to your beard. Massage it in and then with a beard comb, begin combing out your beard. The detangler should make the beard easy to comb out.Step 3: Apply a nickel size amount of the beard balm to your beard and massage it in, make sure to get the base of your hairs as well.Step 4: Apply 3 squirts of the beard oil to your beard by massaging it in. Style as desired.It takes me about 10 minutes to perform the whole routine, but it's well worth it. I wash my beard every other day. I apply the beard balm and oil daily though.This routine keeps my beard soft, moisturized and looking great!
