This is my first time purchasing barley as a coffee sub. I drink regular coffee throughout the day, and in the evenings occasionally I like to drink coffee with my dessert. I’m typically too lazy to make coffee, so I’ve relied on Instant decaf as something quick to do the trick. This instant barley comes in a fine powder, mixes into water great, and tastes similar to coffee! I even had my husband try it and he thought it was coffee (ok, I don’t know that I, personally. could confuse this with coffee, but do note tha they are similar). Would absolutely repurchase. Feels like it would be a better alternative to the chemically extracted caffeine from most instant decaf coffees.

I have difficulty metabolizing caffeine, and this Caffe d’Orzo is perfect for me.

No choice but the flavor is fairly rich. The one star off because the barley pulp affects the taste and texture. It would be better if the pulp could be filtered out while retaining the flavor.

I was shopping for Orzo Bimbo and when I looked it up it showed this product and recommended it as similar. It is less expensive and organic so I ordered this. I usually add a teaspoon of Orzo to my hot milk and it tastes so good. When I added a teaspoon to my hot milk, it did not dissolve and made the milk tasted like burned popcorn. This company wants you to process the product like coffee grounds in a French press or an espresso machine. This tastes bad and is not similar to Italian Orzo Bimbo. Amazon says this can not be returned or refunded but I called them and they made and exception and gave me a refund.

Yummy! The taste is definitely not coffee-like, but delicious nevertheless. This is NOT instant; it must be steeped or brewed, which is just fine with me. I didn't realize that until I got it. The package does mention that fact, labeling it as "filter grind." This tastes different than the instant varieties of coffee substitutes such as Roma, Cafix, Pero, and Orzo Buono (Italian soluable barley drink). It's more dark and strong. I really like it and so do several people I've served it to.

Flavor is not as strong as the normal barley things im used to. Was more like a weak version rather than a full flavored version
