Take your time if it's your first time attempting this
Looks freaking great! You can brag to your boys about how much better yours looks.I'd recommend this if you're good with your hands. Like most other rewiewers said, you have to be extremely careful with it. You'll have to deal with small screws (that are often different sizes, remember which one goes where) and unplug thin ribbon cables. I almost had a heart attack after thinking I broke the battery wire soon after starting. If you don't have the toolkit.... DON'T TRY IT. Those tweezers will be a godsend, especially if your hands are big. People say it's easy to strip screws, maybe I got lucky in that regard. The holes on the outer shells aren't threaded, so take extreme caution when putting it together.Definitely a good buy, but I would say I'm good with tech and good with my hands. It's definitely not for everyone.

Looks great if done correctly.
The kit comes with all the pats you need. Looks fantastic. The screws that the kit comes with aren't very strong so you need to be careful if you decide to use them (they aren't necessary).Replacing the shells on the switch joy-cons is a very complicated procedure. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you have no experience working on small electronics.

Amazing product, if you’re up for it...
This is an AMAZING product!.... if however you are up for the challenge, I have NEVER done and electrical circuit board thingy work ever, so this is my first time working with this kind of stuff. Super fun project, took me personally around 4 hours to complete, TOTALLY WORTH IT. But some parts were frustrating, make sure you have patients to handle pretty small screws, it took me 30 minutes to get 4 tiny screws in which was annoying, however it is not that bad coming from an impatient person haha.REPLACEMENT SCREWS SUCK. I used some since I lost 2 screws on the left joycon, they were ok but they strip very easily, so be careful. Make sure you have the right tools to accomplish this project, tools don’t come with the shells. Overall I had fun learning how to do it and it felt so rewarding when I finished it. I do recommend, I’d rate it 7/10, BUT the finished product is 10/10 awesome.

The jungle green BASSTOP Translucent NS Joycon Handheld Controller Housing With D-Pad Button DIY Replacement Shell Case for Nintendo Switch Joy-Con (L/R) is great. They did not have any fitment issues as previous reviews had stated. All buttons and parts fit well and work smoothly. There is risk as I broke a joy con. I tried doing the swap without watching any instructional videos and somehow one of the joyc cons (left) would no longer work on battery. But did work connected. If you must customize then this is an excellent option.Update 7. 22.2018: The custom jungle green cases are great and enjoyable but the white lettering on the buttons has worn off on my set. I am disappointed that they were not printed and made to withstand human hand interaction. Also I have a white set and there was considerable fitment issues and multiple button openings had to be modified to work with the original joy-con hardware.

Do not buy.
Unusable. None of the screw holes on the left Joy-Con controller fit in the replacement shell using either the included screws or the screws from the previous Joy-Con. Did not get any farther than that. Do not buy.

Take your time, and hope to whatever god you worship that you have tiny hands.
this shell is amazing, looks awesome, favorite color, all the things that screams "PLAY ME" and "ADMIRE ME".Its a must own for anyone looking to mof their switch, but take heed, it is an utter nightmare to install. whoever designed the joycons must have a death warrant because if you have giant hands, you wont have the best time.so either your small or have a lady friend with you, it'll be a breeze, otherwise.... well.... Fighting Ganon in Breath of the Wild with 3 Hearts, naked, with whatever weapon you have, is ALOT easier then to put this shell on with relative ease.because you will start to scream bloody mary and curse whatever that you have giant hands.anyway, buy it, itd a beautiful product and much worth the hassle to install.

great product but some small issues
overall i think this is a great product. i was really surprised by the replacement D pad it feels really good almost like its supposed to be there normally, however the little white markings on the d pad are painted on instead of being made into the plastic so i imagine they will fade off which doesn't really bother me that much. The big negative with this is that the left joycon trigger does not fit on the shell properly and is really wiggly and loose just feels terrible to play with, whereas the right one was made properly and feels normal. i know this is an issue with the new shell and not my installing it because i took it back apart and put the trigger back on my original joycon shell and it felt perfectly fine. I guess this really isn't that big of a deal but i'm very picky when it comes to this stuff so i will be buying another left joycon shell in the hopes that it wont have any defects.Other than that one minor issue i am very happy with this. it looks awesome

Only buy if you are willing to have to supply better screws
I have clear cased nearly every console I have owned. A lot of clear cased are lower quality acrylic that shatters easily. These are not. The plastic is of high quality. My issue is with the replacement Phillip screws for the case backing, and the holes these go into. The tips of said screws and not self tapping, and the holes for them are too small for flat end screws. You either have to reuse your trip wing screws, or bore out the screws. The problem with this, is of you have already tried to use the replacement screws, they can strip and get stuck, unable to remove with a loose case. I understand the seller doesn't make these, but could include self tapping screws at minimal cost. I have high quality screwdrivers for Nintendo consoles, it's the screws, not the screwdriver.
