Q: Do these work for left-handed kids?

I just did a little research online and they say they work for both left-handed and right-handed people. My son has had great success with the Grotto Grip. His pencil grip is completely normal now and I think this has strengthened his fine motor skills and helped with handwriting.

Q: Will these work with pens, specifically the pentel EnerGel?

If the pen has a stick barrel and no grip or extra padding (like the Bic Stick, they will work. If the pen's barrel is thicker than a pencil, they will not work. The pencil/pen is slid through a pre-drilled hole that is sized for a pencil.

Q: Are these rubber or hard plastic?

They appear to be some sort of silicone--they are not hard plastic, nor do they appear to be rubber. They are firm (not squishy) but not absolutely hard.

Q: Would these grips fit for an adult with large (thick) hands?

I think they will fit most adult hands. If they need the 'thick' pencils, these grips do not fit them. Sometime my longer finger nails get in the way, but my husband has used then without any problems.
