The Bear Under The Stairs Paperback – 5 Jun. 2008

This is a great book to help any young child who harbours fears of thinking there are strange things going on in the house. William is afraid of the cupboard under the stairs he is convinced there is a big bear living there. His imagination is making him so fearful. It is a wonderful story with lovely illustrations, best of all a happy ending.

My granddaughter enjoys having this book read to her.

My son ( now 23) loved this book as a child and I've bought it for others when they have had children. It's a little scary, has some rhythm and an ultimate happy ending. I loved reading it aloud

This is a small book but great story, was a bit disappointed by the size at first but actually really good size.

I loved this book as a kid. My brother and sister loved it so when I had my son I had to buy it. He over it too reading it so much he's starting to know it off by heart

My two year old daughter loves this story and we've read it over and over again - sometimes 3 or 4 times in one sitting!

This is the story of little William who is scared of the place under the stairs. He thinks there's a bear hiding there. For any child with fears of dark places in your own home, this book might help them to see that their fears are all in their imagination. However, I wasn't so pleased with the language choice in this book. It wasn't bad, but it was a little weird. I'm not used to seeing the word pong in a children's story. Plus the pictures were ok, but nothing special. It's cute, but there are definitely better children's books out there.

I had heard of "The Bear under the Stairs" when listening to a presentation on the internet. Since I am by career a first grade teacher, I felt this was a great story to use with children to talk with them about their fears.Since I was not going to use the book on a daily basis, I did not feel that I needed to spend a lot of money for a new book. However, in using it with youth, I didn't want there to be crayon marks and tears on the pages as some of the reviews noted. Therefore when I saw the review that this one was like new, I was willing to try that one.I'm thankful for the evaluation system and rating that I found on Amazon for this book. Keep up the great work of being honest about used items - maybe I will buy more items this way.

dieses kleine büchlein ist ist auf eine ganz eigene weise illustriert-es erzählt auf liebevolle weise, wie die phantasie von kindern alles mögliche heraufbeschwören kann(in diesem fall einen riesengrossen bären unter der treppe)und was dabei herauskommt..

I gave the book as a gift to a soon to be 3 yr old, he loves just as much as my kids when they were little. I hope to find available copies when I have grandchildren to share it with
