Who can wait for Christmas? I wanted to give this cool gadget to myself now. So I did. I know. How selfish of me. But I never get cool gadgets for Christmas. It's always something stupid like clothes and underwear and socks. Bleh! Cool gadgets are IN this season, and I got mine. This skinny flashlight stretches out to about 2 feet, just long enough for me to pick up screws and nails and most anything metal-wise that I drop. That happens daily. Flashlight doesn't deliver the strongest of beams but it's ok, especially for picking up objects in dark areas. Part of the extension is completely bendable, which makes it great for getting around in those weird areas (and there are plenty of those around here). The front magnet that encircles the flashlight beam is good enough for smaller objects. The base magnet at the rear is really strong and can pick up most anything with a little weight to it. I took off 1 star because the very simple instructions neglected to mention that the battery end of the flashlight was on the front instead of the rear, so I spent a good 10 minutes trying to unscrew the back end. It would not budge. Arrrggghhh... It comes with batteries already in it but you have to unscrew THE FRONT END to remove a piece of white paper that keeps them from connectivity. There are an extra four batteries that come with it, and it takes all four. Oh, and it also comes with a Christmas tag that gives you ZERO room to write on (that's IF you want to give it to someone else.) Overall, good deal for a cool product.

I bought 2 for my son and son-n-law for Christmas they both loved it. It extends and magnetizes but most importantly it is bright
