Not sure the charger is keeping battery maintained to 90%
The charger works good , however I charged the battery to 99% and so far it maintained charge to 90% . Hopefully the battery will stay charged. I never used the resistor

Beats using battery and solar panel doesn’t do great in wintertime so resorting to this.

Perfect! Gen 2!
I live in an apartment and there is always movement, i hated having to set the motion a bit lower to save on battery which lasted about 45 days before getting to around 50%. I noticed the ring a bit laggy around that time and since I have the camera on a door mount, I wanted an inexpensive solution. I came across this at time of sale for about 10 dollars and can't be happier. My battery showed 70% once plugged in not EVEN 5 MINUTES LATER it shows 100% and hardwired. I have now turned my motion settings to the max and very happy with this as it fits perfectly for my door mount!

Hardwired in App and Charging Slowly :)
It has been a day only, so I will come back and update regarding its longetivity but am thus far satisfied with installing it. Our doorbell was at 49% and has gone up to 53% in the past 6 hours. As one reviewer mention, this is a SLOW charge. What it is for is to prevent you from taking off your doorbell and charging it, so it fulfills that purpose for me.Secondly, with this installed, I can now have motion alerts and do a lot of “live views” on my Ring doorbell without the fear of draining the battery quicker. I have this installed at our work office, and I work mostly remotely. I need this to often monitor other people mostly, so it saves me the time to go back and forth to office for charging and all. However, as I mentioned, it’s been a day, so I will update if something negative happens.Thirdly, there were barely any instructions but for someone like me who has no skills in this category, it was farily easy: I unscrewed the bottom two screws on my Ring doorbell to take it off the mount. Then I took off the two screws off the actual mount, stuffed the adapter’s open end of the wires to the two screw areas, and screwed the screw with the screw driver. Then, I mounted my Ring doorbell in place.I waited for a minute or so to see that my phone “Ring” application showed “hardwired” for me to see it was working (I included a picture for help). Unlike another reviewer, my Ring doorbell did not have the red sidelights (perhaps mie is the older version)?Anyway, I hope this helps someone.

My live view works great now! Connects every time quickly
My live view works great now! Connects every time quicklyI have had a ring doorbell 2 for awhile now, one at the front door which is wired and one on a side door which was battery powered. The battery powered one stayed charged above 50 percent for around four or five months, but the issue I had was getting “Live View” to activate regularly,, sometimes it would connect quickly and other times I would have to try repeatedly for four or five times before it would connect. It was not the WI-FI connection. So I ordered this power supply, power supply states it will provide up to 24 volts AC.The documentation could be better with this item; mine had a small diode in a clear package in it, but no instructions about its use. At first I thought it was a 50 watt 25 ohm resistor which is often mentioned being needed at times with the Ring doorbells. I was finally about to use a round ring shop light magnifying glass to identify this item, it is a IN4007 NIC Diode and not a resistor.I did not need a resistor with my connection. The wire on the power supply was I am guessing 12-15 feet long, but I needed a longer length, so I obtained another ten feet of the same gauge wire, soldered it to the original and covered it with heat shrink it to the original. I then measured the output which showed me about 17 volts AC.I put in a fully charged battery and wired in the power supply. Device health now says “hard wired” and “very good” Live view pops up without any hesitation now.

Still a bit iffy about it... it showed promise at first and now it’s not working as well
*Edit: 06April2020It stopped working now. Like I mentioned in the past, it wouldn’t keep it steadily charged, but, for some reason, it’ll charge again randomly. After I had it charged to 100%, it’s been juggling between 68%-91%. It wouldn’t go below 68%, but it wouldn’t go above 91% either. NOW, it completely stopped working. The outlet works completely fine, it’s the cable. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t work ever again or if it does works again. How did I notice? Well, I walk my dogs multiple times since I don’t own a yard. First walk, noticed the white light around the button was lit. Second walk, it wasn’t even on. Checked the app, and shows it wasn’t even connected to anything and just running on its own battery life.*I’ve had this for about 3 weeks now, and, at first it was doing fine. Charging slowly since when I first installed it, my Ring doorbell was at 58%. Two weeks later, it was at 68% and then it just started going back down. When it finally went back to 58%, I took my doorbell back inside to charge it to 100% and am now going to wait a few days to see if the battery is still slowly dying.I really want this to work since I live in an old townhouse that doesn’t have wired doorbells. And it is a pain to recharge the Ring doorbell on a nearly weekly routine. Leaving my front door unguarded with crime slowly increasing in my hometown is a bit nerve wrecking too.

Reliable power supply
This power adapter is exactly what I needed for my Ring Doorbell. It provides consistent power, eliminating the need to recharge the battery constantly. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been working perfectly with my Ring Doorbell Pro. Highly recommend for anyone looking to simplify their doorbell setup.
