LASCO 03-4753 Bathtub Waste and Overflow Two Hole Twist Type Lever Faceplate and Striker Linkage for American Standard

WORKED BEAUTIFULLY - need to make sure the screw connecting the back plate is in right and tight with the barbed washer provided - a little patience is all you need. I used the larger chrome screw with a bigger head in stead of the brass screw for more support.. You need to adjust the length comparing it to your old one so that it closes completely.

Perfect replacement for older American Standard drain linkage. I have found that using drain clearing products, bleaches etc will rot this assembly in a matter of months. If you cannot clear a clogg, remove the lever, linkage assembly and clean the spring. This spring is made of steel (helps weigh down the plunger) not brass, it will corrode quicker than the brass parts. Great fix

The spring would not attach because there was no space to attach the linkage arm. No instructions didn’t help either.

Hair gets tangled around the coil pretty badly. Works OK but not as solid as the original. Weaker material. Old coil had a piece break off so had to replace it.

This is a perfect fit replacement for an old American Standard tub drain. The chrome plating seems pretty good. However, the sheet metal is pretty thin compared to the original. The most important thing you should know is that, as you might guess from the picture, the spring is massive and steel. I was worried it might rust and, sure enough, less than 6 months later, it is a spectacular rusty mess. Yes, you need to take these out periodically to clean off hair and goo - basically a poor design but that's American Standard's fault not LASCO. Anyway, I'll be searching for a brass spring to replace this. Plain steel constantly sitting in water? Why?

I only needed one part of this assembly but that part ., the spring did the job. The assembly did not come with instructions, and I did not find workable instructions until i searched online (and not at the Lasco site.) It would help if the assembly came with proper instructions not written by Chinese, but by an English plumber! ber.

I've been refinishing tubs for 20 years and never knew this was still available. Most people try to replace this type of overflow with a common universal overflow plate and it looks terrible. Was able to get this along with a new brass drain stop and brought the original and superior American standard drain back to life.
