Excellent Kettle
Over the past few months we've gone through four new electric kettles and all of them done what they said they would which was boil water but what they never told you was that the boiled water tasted disgusting. Now on to this one, we had our doubts but wow was we wrong, the water tastes great from this kettle. It has a large lid which is easy to remove which also makes it easy to to clean inside. At 2.5l it holds plenty of water if you have a few guests around. It has discoloured a little through use but for me I think it adds to the patina of the kettle. It has a nice tactile, rounded handle which makes it easy to pour, even with my arthritic hands. And the best part is the whistle when it's boiling, I love it, it reminds me of when I was young and my parents had the kettle on. All in all I think it's great value for money and would definitely buy again.

Nice kettle but maybe a bit flimsy
A nice, light and cheerfully colourful kettle which looks good on my gas hob and I am sure will be fine to take camping. It holds a good volume of water - more than my electric kettle. It doesn’t leak or drip if properly used and the whistle is adequate but not very loud. The handle does get quite warm during boiling but I was able to hold the handle to pour the kettle without wearing an oven glove. The handle folds down nicely to make filling easier, although the fastenings holding the handle to the main kettle are a bit flimsy and I suspect will shorten the useful life of the kettle.

Put time, money and effort into returning this that I won't get back...
***FURTHER UPDATE*** The robot has now finally decided that I'm entitled to a postage refund after all. Why did this have to be so difficult? ***UPDATE*** When I didn't receive my refund within the stipulated seven days of receipt by the seller, I had to submit a refund request through Amazon. However, despite providing the tracking number and receipt for the cost of the postage, this hasn't been included in the refund amount. The Marketplace refund policy states that I should be entitled to a refund of postage costs if an item is faulty. Call me naive, but a kettle that develops rust on the underside of its lid within its first week of use seems like a faulty item to me. Is it not reasonable to expect that an item designed to boil water should be - well - rustproof? So far, I've put quite a lot of effort into boxing this item up, paying for and printing out a postage label, and then carrying it to the post office. I am now apparently stuck in an interminable loop with a robot that keeps telling me that the amount I am to receive will match the amount deducted from my payment method. This has been an absolute chore. For the pleasure of doing all this good stuff, I've had to pay £2.86. If I had a choice, I'd have spent that £2.86 on doing something more interesting with my life... ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I've only had this a week and the lid has gone rusty already! I think it's reasonable to expect a kettle to be waterproof. Overall, the quality isn't the best, unfortunately. The whistle seems a bit faulty, and the handle doesn't look like it's going to last, as it only seems to be attached with thin strips of metal at either end. Lovely colour, but not really built for every day use, and of course the rusty lid is a health hazard. I've requested a refund.

Good but not as sturdy as l would have liked as don't think it will last long.
