Not as advertised in product description.
The original Zeasorb that was immensely effective in absorbing moisture contained PEG (polyethylene glycol), a resin that can be manufactured in different molecular size ranges and used in many scientific, industrial and biomedical applications. Appropriate PEG resins absorb multiples of their weight in water, and have been used, among many other applications in diapers, sanitary napkins, laxatives, and in the case of Zeasorb, to capture moisture on skin surfaces to reduce chafing, growth of microbes (e.g., between toes and under abdominal folds), and provide other benefits where dry skin is beneficial. When supply chains were challenged during COVID, is appeared that the necessary PEG was eliminated from the formulation and replaced with a combination of talc, microcellulose and other additives, but no starches. Because some talc sources were claimed to contain asbestos, newer formulations of Zeasorb removed talc and microcellulose and substituted organic starches and extracts (e.g., corn and tapioca starch). Both formulations were advertised by the manufacturer on Amazon, and for specific reasons I carefully selected the formulation listed with talc and microcellulose, and NO STARCHES. Instead I was sent the formulation with starches, which I cannot use. Product descriptions are not a trivial element of product sales ,but on Amazon, accuracy seems to have fallen by the wayside with an increasing percentage of sellers, and has happened repeatedly in the case of a.majority of my purchases. The trade-off in constant returns eliminates any initial price benefit when returns become the norm rather than the exception, and am returning to purchasing more goods in brick and mortar locations. Do not rely on the product description and photo if you have specific needs for one of the many variants of this product, as there is no adherence to filling the order with the product you have selected.
