Escape to Christmas Cottage: A cosy Christmas romantic comedy about letting go of the past

I LOVE Rosamund Pilcher's "Winter Solstice" and re-read it every December. "Escape to Christmas Cottage" has some of the same elements that I love about Pilcher's book: rural setting, snowstorm, strangers unexpectedly thrown together. It's a charming and funny story that I'll likely pick up again next December!

With this book sometimes I wanted to give up reading it but always seemed to come back to read more.

I liked the storyline OK, but I'd have liked it a lot more if Ruby was more likable.

I didn't like the main character at the beginning, she was just mean, nasty and selfish, and by the end she hadn't changed at all. Sometimes a character grows on you, but not this time. I've always enjoyed CJ Morrow's books, but this one was a big fat dud.

This is a very sweet book. I loved it throughout. If you are looking for something sweet and uplifting....do read this one!

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming and funny romcom and it made me feel very Christmassy even though it's only October. As Ruby's past is revealed, that fact that she hates Christmas and is determined to avoid it all costs makes perfect sense. I laughed out loud at Ruby and Noah's first meeting (and Kong's!) and I could imagine Christmas Cottage so well that it made me wish it were real so I could book a holiday there. If you want something to cheer you up and put you in the mood for Christmas this is the book for you!

At the start i thought I'd already read it as the basic premise seemed familiar. A couple of chapters in it became clear i hadn't read it!! Thoroughly enjoyed it, sat for 2 hours drinking tea while the rain hammered down outside. Characters are believable and likeable. Will look for more by this author.

My new favourite author Funny and romantic. This book was easy reading and a pick me up during lockdown. Curl up and read feel good book.lovely.This book was like having a hug and I couldn't wait to read another chapter.Recommend this author and will down load another book to cheer me up on this cold and grey November for another happy ending. Perfect.

I loved the story line. It was so amusing at times and sad. I carnt wait till I get the next in line. Fantastic author. Fantastic imagination. Just love the authors books, read all of the them.
