Beautiful bottle, but why synthetic dyes?
I took off a star because this has yellow no 5 and red 33 dyes in it. If you are going to tout a product for its natural 'from the earth' qualities, don't put synthetic dyes in it! That is very disappointing to me. I was going to toss this but I'm going to do some more research on these dyes. I know they are FDA approved, but, still, why put them just to make the essence a pretty color? I'd have been happier with natural color.--------The presentation of Elli K treatment lotion is quite beautiful. From the box to the bottle, the experience of opening the box and seeing that pretty bottle with the orange-pink lotion is very effective. This would make a lovely gift.Though the language on the box and inside the pamphlet is rather over-done and slightly gimmicky, it's still thoughtful and evocative. But I would like more science with the spiritual, which I do believe they provide on this Amazon page.At $92 for the bottle, this on the surface may seem expensive, but it's just over $18 an ounce since the bottle is just over 5 ounces. So you are getting more for your money. This really is rather bargain priced, which did surprise me.This is more an 'essence' than a serum and I use it as the first step in my skincare routine: cleanse, this 'essence,' then serum, then moisturizer. The liquid is watery like an essence so that's why it's less expensive per ounce. You pour some out onto your palms and then tap or press it to your face. There is a white 'stopper' that covers the hole so be sure to keep that so you won't have spillage. The experience of this on my skin was very pleasant. It did make my skin feel soft, and it did feel rather silky going onto my skin. That's a big plus for me.It has only a slightly oil-based quality that helps with the silky feel. But not greasy at all. Absorbs very well.I didn't experience any redness or irritation to my slight-rocasea-prone skin. No itching or burning.I like this product. I would think about purchasing again. A little goes a long way so this will last a very long time. For the price per ounce, the experience, the feel of the lotion on my skin, the care in packaging, and even with the gimmicky hype-y language, this is a 5 star product.

Strong scent, but...
This is a great product. I really didn't know what to expect with this, but I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it's not a typical moisturizer or serum (but you apply it the same way). It's a little sticky until it dries, but I have found it works very well for keeping the skin looking/feeling hydrated. It's not an immediate feeling, it actually seems to work better when it's been on your face for a while. It is definitely EXPENSIVE, however, you do get a big bottle and you don't even have to use a lot of it. It does smell like a spicy perfume or cologne of some sort, but the scent dies off after a while. This is actually quite ideal to use in hot weather as it isn't as heavy as a moisturizer but keeps the skin from drying out. It's definitely different but in a good way. Given the price, I don't think I'd buy it (I was able to try this via Amazon Vine), but I you get a big bottle of it (and the way it dispenses is also ideal, as you have to sort of splash it into your hand, but that's good because only a little comes out a time, making it hard to spill).

Lacking Results...
For the price of this, I expect to be blown away by it. Unfortunately, I'm not.Its labeled as a 'lotion' but it has more of a liquid consistency. Absorption is fast and doesn't leave a greasy/sticky look or feel behind. Does a nice job of softening. But I don't notice the promised 'glow', a change to skin tone or elasticity. There are ingredients in this product I've never heard of before. I have dry, sensitive skin and experience no negative reaction to any of the ingredients. There is a scent that I find it to be fairly strong though it does fade. For those interested in packaging, the bottle is gorgeous. I initially reached for it to use it as perfume a few times because it looks like a pretty perfume bottle. lol.I will keep using this. I'm hoping with continued use I start to see more of the promised results. Should this happen, I'll be back to update my review.

Beautiful bottle, pretty lotion-this would make a lovely gift
The first thing that strikes one is the gorgeous appearance of the bottle; the clear glass and the gold top set off the tangerine-colored lotion beautifully. The next feature of note is the fragrance. Said to have been developed by a French fragrance research center in the famed city of Grasse, there is a definite perfume quality to it. My favorite, lemon bergamot, is the top note, with undertones of lily of the valley and cedarwood musk rounding it out. I enjoy the perfume-like aspect of the experience; if you tend to have olfactory sensitivity, note that it dissipates fairly quickly when on the skin so it may not offend those of you who avoid scents. The lotion itself is quite light and readily absorbed. I felt it initially left a slightly tacky feeling on the surface of my skin, but as I used it as a base and followed it with sunscreen and foundation in daytime and additional moisturizer at night, this worked out well for me. The lotion is said to provide antioxidant protection, which perhaps explains the surface texture. It is also said to improve elasticity, to reduce wrinkles and to promote general skin health. Only time will tell. The literature enclosed in the box refers at some length to Sedona, Arizona, which is, indeed, a lovely and spiritual place. Although I read the brochure with interest, I found it difficult to connect the somewhat verbose descriptions with the actual functioning of the product. Given the many references to "essential sincerity from Arizona," I found it interesting that the company address is in Corporate Plaza in Newport Beach, CA. Not far, but then again not the same place at all.In summary, the packaging is first rate and the product is lovely, but I am not convinced that it will perform at a level to justify the (current) $18.15 per ounce cost. If your budget can accommodate this expense, by all means try this, or better yet, gift it.
