The Transporter Refuelled [DVD] [2017]

Cooler Than 007
The first Transporter film probably dropped under some people's radar, but undoubtedly put Jason Statham on enough peoples radar as an action hero. Transporter 2 opened up the playing field with a bigger story, and introduced the much cooler Audi A8 as his mode of transport. Transporter 3 however, seemed to be a mission too far!. The franchise was looking worryingly tired. The car chases and fight scenes were just retreads and even the man in black was looking a bit bored with it all, only going through the motions for his payday. A couple of years ago, a TV series appeared, with Chris Vance taking over at the wheel as a more suave, 007 type transporter. With Statham allegedly asking for £11 million for a return to the film series, me thinks he values himself higher than his last Transporter outing deserves, we are given a new face behind the wheel. Ed Skrein plays a younger version, but no less lethal. He's already proved his credentials, taking on a gang of thugs in an underground car park who seem to think they want his car, before the opening credits have rolled. Frank Martin's latest mission involves Anna, a woman looking for revenge on a human trafficker who victimized her 15 years earlier, involving a bank heist and the kidnap of Frank's father. This is the reboot the franchise needed. Whilst lacking the cockney charm of Statham, Ed Skrein delivers a more cutting edge Transporter, his fight skills sharper than his black suit. Loan Chabanol's Anna is a worthy foil for Frank. Russian rogues, lethal females, slicker fight scenes and cooler car chases make The Transporter Refuelled the film to keep the franchise alive. Hopefully, the series will continue with Skrein in the lead role and we'll see him develop his own take on the character. The best is back in the business.....and he's getting better!

Great action movie
The Audi S8 is actually in spirit an RS8 but Audi felt that it was inappropriate to use the label on such a large car... Riiiiight. But with 98 Ron fuel it develops 607 horsepower propelling it to 60 MPH in just 3.8 seconds or with an ECU mod 667HP and 3.6 seconds. Yum. To the point, "New Frank" handles the car very well, as one would expect, even as well as "Old Frank". He plays the role very well, but I cannot stop wishing that "Old Frank" would just walk through a door, and say "It's OK I'm back" and climb into his W12 and roar off. That aside this is a great action movie with some good fight sequences and some pretty girls. But again, "Old Frank" would have polished off that room of baddies in about 20 seconds, not three or for minutes like "New Frank" and he would have come out without a mark on him. The movie is great. Buy it!

Not bad but not as good without The Stathe
Ed Skrein does his best but doesn't make the same kind of impression as Jason Statham. The producers probably thought so too so they tried to make good the loss with four leading ladies instead of just the one. Whoever plays the Transporter's dad does a great job of portraying an aging rogue who's seen and done it all but is charmingly modest about it. If you liked the other Transporter films, it's still worth a watch - just dial down your expectations a little.

ACTION FILM
This is an excellent film - well acted and plenty of action. It is definitely a must have if you have all of the previous Jason Statham Transporter Series. Very pleased with my purchase!

Good storyline
I did not think it could be as good as the previous movies but it is worth watching

Nowhere near as good as the three previous movies before you have been warned on that.
If you are looking for a movie with some decent action the equivalent summed up of any modern 007 or Oceans movie then this is one to consider for that. But if you are like me and truly love the Transporter films by Luc Besson without anybody else's half-arsed and so-said true to the story cause then avoid this 'Refuelled' like the plague. Jason Statham was a much better Frank Martin portrayer as an actor than the one in this one is. Ed Skrein is not a disaster in acting as Frank Martin's Character but again and at the same time nowhere near as good as his predecessor nor is this so-called and as I say half-arsed 'refuelled' update to what was the franchise but is now no longer.

Do not buy titles with the small markings- you may be buying a REGION B movie & it won't play.
When you buy movies NOT of REGION A you will not be able to play them on your players & you will have to suffer the wait of returns as I have had to do.
