If you have a large dog and go on long excursions, you may need two of these. My 45 pounder does just fine on our summer walks with the one I use.

We had one of these before, but it was dropped one too many times and cracked so had to purchase a new one. It has since been redesigned. I have always unscrewed the water bottle from the base and poured water into the base to give the dogs a drink since we have two dogs and it's just easier that way. I then pour the remainder of the water from the base back into the bottle. Used to pour from the side but with the redesign, I need to pour from the middle (doesn't empty completely) and then from the side. With the old design, I could pour the water easily back in from the side. That being said, it is a very convenient size to take for a walk with our dogs.

This thing is wonderful for traveling! The only drawback to me is that the drinking bowl part is a little narrow. My dog is a 15 lb bichon and it’s just a little wider than his snout. I have to get it at just the right angle for him to really get to the water well. It took him a few times to get used to it, but now he drinks from it with no problem. He was a little hesitant at first because it’s a little narrow. I had one before where the bowl part flared out a little at the end and the bottle was a little wider. But we’ve adjusted to this one and never travel anywhere without it!

Love the size and easy to clean but bottle doesn't lock in place when in the up position and hit my dog in the head.

Great size for a small dog on a summer day walk. It's lightweight, easy to use and clean.

The design and style seem great. Having a square bottom is so much smarter than round bottom water bowls that spills water everywhere.Unfortunately, the bottle doesn't click or hold in an upright position. You have to hold the bottle up while pet is drinking or it will fall on them and likely scare them. Not a big deal if you're willing to hold but something to be aware of when purchasing.

This is a nice little addition when we take our dog on a long walk and don't feel like carrying a water bottle and bowl/drinking container. It's not as large as I had hoped but it was enough to give her halfway through a 3 mile walk to satisfy her thirst. It's well made, but the bottle part won't stay up on it's own when she's trying to drink out of it so you have to hold it up for your dog. I wish the string to attach it to the leash was just a little longer as we cannot get it to loop around correctly on the handle of our retractable leash when we use it. It's not the end of the world as we can just carry it ourselves. This is not a must have for your dog at all, just a nice extra to have.

I got two models of this kind of product and prefer this one. I like that it seals tight (no leaks) and that you can squeeze to dispense rather than gravity flow. I wish it opened past 90 degrees though because it has a tendency to close on its own. We’ve worked around this by placing it on a slight decline or when opened (L-shape) propping the bottle part against the leg of a table or chair when at outside restaurant seating.
