Q: Can I use watercolour paint on the canvas?

Well, I always prefer to paint watercolours on proper watercolour paper - canvas boards like this are really designed for acrylics and oils. This surface is primed with gesso which will create a resist effect with watercolour, so I'm not sure you'll get the watercolour effect you're after. I also can't imagine many watercolourists needing an A2 panel – unless you have something very specific in mind of course, that would warrant such a large size.
