I have used a trap like this for years
I have used a trap like this for years, eventually the mice will gnaw a hole big enough for them to escape, however, it has taken the 4+ years for them to do this (only the most determined mice generally do this). I have caught approx 60-70 mice with just one trap, just ordered a new one. Now these traps DO work but they require a simple mod to make them affective and it's simple, just use a bit of gaffer/duct tape to secure a small stone (mustn't be to heavy) to the front top part of the main body of the trap, not the part that moves, then secure the bait with a clear piece of say sandwich bag plastic (just place it across the bait cover, place on the main body and trim off the excess plastic, use dark chocolate and a digestive biscuit (they love it) again do not put too much bait in the bait cover. This trap will now have a perfect balance to trap the mouse, without the stone to balance the trap is indeed far too sensitive and finally if you are using for humane reasons like I do, do NOT use peanut butter, mice like many rodents have no "gag" reflex and will just choke to death on this stuff, not nice....and remember mice have a very good homing instinct, they will always return to a defined food source so you have to release them at LEAST 1 mile away from your property, if not they will just come back, hope this advice helps from a seasoned mouse wrangler...good hunting!

Works Very Effectively
Don't be fooled but the plastic design. These are great little traps and we have caught many mice over the years using them.We take the mice to another location (ie: a field) and rehome them.Definitely recommended

Rubbish quality
I’ve used this design of trap before from different suppliers and those worked well so I thought I’d get more. I bought 6 and one arrived with one of the hinge axles missing and two don’t lock once the door closes allowing the mouse to escape. That’s some definition of humane!I’ve returned them all as they are rubbish

Cheap & cheerful
The trap is as described but although a different style of live trap used in the same area consistently catches mice, this one doesn’t. Sometimes it has closed effectively but with no mouse inside. Probably being knocked over by an inquisitive mouse before entering. I’ll keep using it in the hope that it catches something but will rely on the other trap to do the biz. After 10 days caught first mouse so probably worth using, especially for v small mice.

Cheap
As a humane trap it works very well relying on the mouse entering to eat food at the end which tilts the unit allowing the door to close. No springs so no tails likely to get caught, my only hang-up is they are quite small which is ideal for placing along runs and in small places but caused me to check the traps twice a day as there was not a lot of room inside once activated for the mouse to run around in. Having said that the mice I did catch were released with no harm done to them at all.

It works
The design of this trap is ingenious, and it works. We've caught and released 3 so far.The only downside is that you can't see what (if anything) is inside if/when it's tripped, and mice don't weigh very much so not always obvious, and I don't want to traumatize them by shaking or tipping it back and forth.I've weighed it when baited and it's just under 50g, so I just stick it on the kitchen scales if it's tripped; anything over 50g and it's 'occupied'.

A game of Cat (well Human) & Mouse
Have to say I had no issues with "it" (the field mouse) whilst it was living in the garden eating snails & left over bird seeds but when it decided to periodically move into my ceiling I knew it was time for us to part company. So began Operation Tom & Jerry (names changed to protect the guilty., I loaded the feed tray with peanut butter and set about catching the little blighter in the garden...a task in itself as I soon learnt slugs just love peanut butter. As I wouldn't set the trap if I was unable to be there for a quick release it was a bit of a hit n miss affair!! I quickly realized that I had to catch it on it's way out at dusk as it never came back hungry enough to want dessert, but this gave me the advantage of being able to watch the trap from my sun room. Monday this week saw me observing the foe try and open the "bait end" to get to the food, but not having the sense to go to the other end and enter, as the trap is light it managed to push it of the anti slug platform I had constructed and thus close it, so I had to go out and reset. This sadly scared it off and as hopeful as I was that it would return that night it wasn't to be. This however gave me hope so I reset for yesterday and wham bam thank you mam it fell into my trap!! Eureka, a quick 2 mile car ride into the woods and said creature was set free to run wild. Hopefully said mouse is disoriented enough not to be able to find its way back again. Yes the trap works & humane (if released quickly). Now for the pigeons!!

Doesn't work
As a mouse feeder this works incredibly well. The mouse can gain access easily enough and even embarks on some fun with a ride on a seesaw meaning you can feed your mouse with a smile on its face. Once it's finished it's evening meal it simply pushes on it's little mousey door and off it trots. If you plan on actually catching said rodent and depositing it somewhere else in a humane way then look elsewhere.Poison it is.

Très efficace !
The media could not be loaded.
