Work for edema & cellulitis.
I have bought two pairs of these shoes for two people. The first pair was ordered for an individual with special needs. He isn't able to tie his shoes and his feet are swollen and painful. These shoes worked perfectly. They are well made, slip resistant, easy to slip on an off and are sized correctly. The second pair was for an elderly lady with severe edema in her ankles and feet. Again, these fit well, offered comfort, and are sized properly.

These are amazing
My father has diabetes and edema and that makes it difficult to find shoes that work for him but he also have super high arches so that makes it even worse. These shoes are a game changer for me who has to put his shoes on and can easily do it now. No struggling, no fuss, super easy. Plus they are comfy too.

Best shoe ever....for a diabetic swollen foot fit!
Great feeling shoe. I elected to get ONE size larger......and that was a good decision. Fit perfectly. The way the shoe velcro-straps open up; allows easy insertion of swollen high-ridge/arched feet. Great support and makes my feet feel great.

Good and Bad
My foot is basically a size 10 4E. These shoes are wide enough (ThankYou for that) however the tonge piece is too tall and too narrow. It rubs on the front of my ankle. Also in order to be in the Velcro where they attach on the sides. It is a trade off between being too tight or not closing on the sides. So i opted for too tight around my ankle and use a long shoe horn to get my foot/feet in. They are comfortable to stand in. Walking they seem to slip around a bit. Maybe I just needed to get used to that part. Definitely no good for walking across wet grass. They are very light weight

Solved my swollen foot problem
While not the most stylish looking shoe, this solved my shoe fit issue from a broken ankle. Foot swelled up when broke and has not decreased much 15 weeks after surgery. Dr had me off foot in cast for 9 weeks. Now that I can put weight on it again, none of my shoes fit the swollen foot. One foot is men’s 10.5 and the swollen one is a 12+. I tried the size 12 Crok rubber slip on shoe but top strap was still too tight and was way too big for normal foot. Got these and was amazed the Velcro top allowed me to put swollen foot in easily and lightly adjust top strap to feel reasonable comfortable. The normal size foot fit in and the top could be adjusted down enough to remove any looseness. I can now walk outside the house looking like a somewhat normal person ( other than the drunk Pirate peg leg walking style). Being outside walking a bit has really helped firm up the leg muscles again and made activities outside the home possible again. These shoes fit secure enough that I have slowly started mowing my yard again and walking my dogs. Now if they could just add a dark blue or grey color…

Comfortable
Bought these for my father who has very swollen feet due to medical reasons. He said they are comfortable and easy to put on since he does not have to tie them. No other shoes fit his feet comfortably.

Not Actually for Walking
I was looking for walking or running shoes, 4E wide. I'd been buying these for years from BA Mason Co., but they went out of business. Similarly, Brown's New Balance in St. Louis, I bought online, went out of business. In Amazon, I was looking for replacements for the same shoes I'd been using, but which got worn down after several years. Looking at the info for these Fitville shoes, called "walking shoes", I got the impression you could walk, run, exercise as needed, but they had the added bonus of "extra roominess" in the front for diabetic swollen feet. I'm severely diabetic, but only have swelling on my shins, not on my feet. My feet are lean but super wide. My brother bought some shoes online that have extra room for swollen feet, but those came with numerous inserts to take up the extra space in the toe box and around the heel. So, they could be adjusted to a perfect fit, he says. (Like me, he needed them for extra WIDTH, NOT HEIGHT. 6E wide.) So, I bought these Fitville walking shoes, thinking they would fit everywhere on the foot normally but with optional extra height in toe-box which didn't hurt anything if you didn't need it. Also, the other reviewers raved about the velcro wings with opening in the center, saying that allowed more perfect fitting than any other design. When I got them, tried them on, I found they're way too loose all over the front, and all over the heel, and the velcro wings cannot be closed tight enough to be effective. The wings can't be extended far enough on each side. So, the shoes slip and slide all over my feet, or my feet slip and slide all over inside them. They cannot be used for any walking, let alone running. My biggest impression is these are only "walking shoes" only if you're walking with a WALKER, very slowly and gingerly. Further, they'd be best for sitting in a wheelchair with these super loose shoes just protecting your feet from the hard footrest. So, I sent them back immediately, I can't use them for anything (I'm not in a wheelchair or walker.) Extra inserts were not included to fill in the excess space, as my brother got with a different purchase. If you lack mobility, and need walker or wheelchair, only then do I recommend this purchase.
