Dark and disturbing but oh so good
Wow, I enjoy dark books and boy does this tick the boxes. If you read TW as a list of things you want to see in a book then this is for you.Our FMC Nyx, has had some real bad luck in life but has a core of steel and is streetwise. She’s surrounded in mystery, no clue as why she’s on the island as yet, hoping we find out more in the next book. The guard Jayce is another mystery, why is he on the island and what is he really there for? I have so many unanswered questions after reading this dark but brilliant story. The birds are all psychos, even Falcon who is my favourite. The stuff she has to endure being in their team is both physical and psychological torment. That cliffhanger tho, it’s left me desperately wanting the next book, what will happen to Nyx.

I need more
This book really did pull me in and kept me interested. So many questions need answering. I need the next book. I love the concept and dynamic.

Extra dark
This book is a lot darker than the usual "dark" romances. There is a lot of degradation, violence, unaliving and t0rtur#, as well as a number of triggers.Having said all that, if you are someone who thrives in the shadows and likes their books the darkest shade of black then this absolute cracker is for you! I loved it. Loved it. I love Nyx, I am gutted for her and her past. And I have not been so angry and upset with a potential harem since pack Darling - in fact they are worse than the wyverns. There is a huge cliffy, but it's worth every second of it and every penny!!!Enjoy x

Interesting story
The is a story of violence, degradation and greed. Nyx is a jewel thief and a very good one at that. But that is until she is betrayed by her Long -term friend. She is jailed for her crimes but soon finds herself gassed and tied up in an aeroplane. A back pack is attached to her body and she finds herself falling from the plane and landing on an island. She soon learns that this is a prison island with many groups who either want to keep you or kill you. She has to suffer degradation in order to survive but she will become stronger and then get her revenge. Hot read.

Lovely and dark!
Glad to have found this. Very dark story. Complex, great characters. Storyline uses the 'prison' Island angle - where extremely bad people (psychopaths, serial murderers, crazies, etc) are dumped. Similarities with Lord of the Flies. We have a sassy woman who is trying to survive. Lots of manipulation on different levels. The inmates want to survive, find any slice of entertainment. The strongest survive. Cannot wait for the next book.

Differently brilliant
I must say that this book surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I was deeply surprised at how it managed to captivate me. The MMCs are deranged and twisted, it boy do they spark “something” in me. FMC is all about survival but I can see the relationships turn wicked and delightful in the coming books. If you are looking for a thrilling story with secrets and blood and the possibility of a RH with lots of wickedness this is definitely the book for you. It was for me.

not bad
Good story line. The feminist in me hated it but it was entertaining. Hope the FMC will be stronger in the second book. I was getting tired of reading her getting chewed on and humiliated by the men.Spice level: 🌶️

A New Favourite Series
5 / 5 starsThis book was so damn good, everything about it was phenomenal. I loved the world building, and the plot was perfection. This book gives Hunger Games meets Squid Games vibes and I freaking loved it!The characters in this book were so well written. I liked the development we had, and although not everything is revealed about each of them, we get to know each of them well enough through their actions and mannerisms. I also liked how we got the story from multiple pov’s.I enjoyed reading this book and trying to put the pieces together to figure out what was going on with everything behind the scenes. I had a feeling something like that was going to happen, but I was still not prepared for the cliff-hanger. That was mean and I wanted to scream at the guys for doing that. This is a fantastic debut novel from these two authors, and I cannot wait for the rest of the series so I can find out what happens next!* This book is dark so please read and take the trigger warning seriously before reading *

Dark fast pace
I feel like this book needs to be read after the second is released as it's got way too many unanswered questions. The steam and darkeness are on fire, though and its well written, so 4 stars for sure. Hopefully, the next book is longer, so we don't lose the awesome style, but the story gets flushed out more

⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was ok not as good as I was expecting, I feel like it was too slow and dragged on, it only really peaked my interest at the last few chapters. I think this series has potential now only after getting to the end of this book so I will eventually red the other books in the series as im someone who cant start a series and not see it out and finish but im in no rush to do so. Hopefully the next books in the series are better.

So so good!
If you have any questions about triggers, they warn you. Don’t take that warning lightly. That being said, this was dark in the most delicious way. So different than any other dark romance, RH books. Totally new concept and plot line.It twists and turns, makes you angry, then hopeful, then smashes all those hopes to pieces.I knew at about 85% I was going to be angry at the end. But I didn’t know I was going to be THAT angry. Like throw things and yell at these fictional characters angry. As for the authors (who we don’t know yet), y’all did amazing and crushed it (along with my heart). As for the next book, rise up and burn it down phoenix, and take no prisoners. Except maybe Jayce. Jury is out in if he’s too vanilla or what his expectations are.
