Unifi AC Mesh 1167Mbit/s Power over Ethernet (PoE) White

The UniFi AC Mesh is like Wi-Fi on steroids—sleek, powerful, and ridiculously reliable. First off, setup in the UniFi Controller was smooth as butter. One click, a quick adopt, and boom—mesh magic. Suddenly my dead zones weren’t dead anymore; they were alive and kicking with strong, steady signal. Whether it’s the patio, garage, or way-too-far corner of the yard, this little guy keeps me connected like I’m standing next to the router. Speeds? Rock solid. I’m pushing 1167 Mbps like it’s nothing, streaming 4K, gaming online, and running video calls without a hiccup. And because it’s PoE, installation is clean—just one cable, no messy power cords dangling around. The design is slim and discreet—it looks more like modern art than a networking beast. But don’t let the looks fool you—this thing is tough. Rain, sun, or snow, it keeps broadcasting like a champ. In short: powerful range, pro-level features, and dead-simple deployment. The UniFi AC Mesh turned my network into a fortress of speed and stability. If Wi-Fi had a rockstar, this would be it.

I have a full UniFi setup and the AC-M is an outdoor workhorse. I've used it as an access point and as a repeater and for the money if you are looking for WiFi 5 outdoor kit for the UniFi family of products this is really hard to beat. Coverage is very good, they are reliable and fast, and offer good connectivity. This can be used as a standalone access point but in general there are better products for that since you have to run a UniFi network controller (which is available as a desktop or mobile application) to configure it, update firmware, etc - something with a built in configuration screen would be a better choice standalone. But for the price if you need something that can be out in bad weather and just work, it's still an okay option as a standalone.

Not a hard setup, and has excellent range! Not sure of it's "advertised" range of "300 feet", probably closer to 150 - 200 feet, ...but definitely a massive boost for any network. Handles the rain well if mounted outside as our is.

I have this setup in a mesh configuration with a UniFi UAP AC-PRO First off, this is bigger than I thought. The unit itself is about the size of a long TV remote, and with the antennas added, the entire thing is about 18 inches long, then if you use the POE injector, count on another peripheral to go along with it. In other words, this is really designed for outdoor/office/industrial use, don't count on this to fit in discreetly with your living room decor. Setup is a bit tricky if you want to use it as a wireless mesh. The instructions that come with it don't really cover much in regards to this configuration, and the instructions on the UniFi website missed some important steps as well. Also, if you don't do things just right, the unit will just sit there in "disconnected" mode with no obvious way to start over. It took me a while to figure out that you need to do a factory reset and then "forget" the device in the UniFi Controller software if you need to start over. Anyway, the steps to get wireless Mesh working (for me at least) is to first connect it wired to your router so it can grab an IP address, wait until it shows up in the UniFi controller, do any configurations needed from the Controller, "trigger" the provision setting, disconnect it from your router, do another reset, then plug it in where you want it. It took me over 2 hours to finally figure out that sequence of steps. Now the good part. Once it's up and running, you will quickly forget how frustrating it was to setup, because WOW, it's made a huge difference in my wifi coverage. The part of the house where I could barely get coverage and streaming anything was near impossible, now has such a strong signal that everything comes up almost instantly and I can steam 4k videos with no buffering or delays. Better yet, that strong signal now covers a good portion of my 1/2 acre backyard as well. Overall, great device once you figure out how to set it up.

I now have 2 of these installed. Both are rock solid and worth Every Penny! Setup is not plug and play, one must use their software. .I will buy another when the need arises.

Easy to setup with my Unifi appliance. I extended the range using this mesh network about .5 miles using 4 antennas, which works fairly well. Just keep in mind that each antenna will reduce your throughput by about 25% for each hop, so by the time I got to the 4th antenna I am only seeing 9mb/s for a 100 mb/s fiber connection. Still plenty of speed. The only downside is that you cannot control which antenna each connects to - sometimes they try to hop over the closest one and connect to one that is further away, which results in reduced speed. Still, much better than any other system I have researched for the price.

Väl fungerande access-punkt för utomhusbruk. Räkna dock inte med jättelång räckvidd, då behövs bättre antenner. Väldigt enkel att installera, både som trådad och trådlös (har testat båda varianterna). Har två, där den första suttit uppe i två år nu utan problem.

I have two wired long range AP shuttles. But decided to get a mesh for outside extra. Was a bit of figuring out to get it to work wirelessly. But after I got it working.. pretty easy. Reset it. Connect it to POE and something with the control software. Adapt it. Had to forget it once, since I directly connect it to my switch the first adapt. But next time you adapt it and pull it out of the switch it works wirelessly connected to your AP, and you can hang it outside. (Forget / adapt / retry is the trick) Good range. Would have liked a network cable with it, but I have loads around the house so not that big a deal.

Ich hatte bereits mehrere Access Points (AP Pro und NanoHD) innerhalb des Hauses im Einsatz und wollte jetzt noch im Außenbereich eine bessere Abdeckung erreichen, insbesondere damit die Überwachungskameras einen besseren Empfang bekommen. Also habe ich mir den vorliegenden Mesh AP von Ubiquiti bestellt. Die Wahl fiel auf den UAP-AC M, da ich draußen über keinen LAN-Anschluss verfüge und die kleinen APs per wireless Uplink ins Netz integriert werden können. Weiterer Kaufgrund waren die kompakten Abmessungen des APs, durch die sich das Gerät recht dezent verbauen lässt. Mittlerweile ist das Gerät einige Monate in Nutzung und es ist Zeit für ein Fazit: Die Vor-/Nachteile in der Zusammenfassung vorab: + solider Durchsatz + guter Reichweitengewinn + ausrichtbare Antennen + PoE Injektor im Lieferumfang + stabiler Betrieb + witterungsbeständig + verschiedene Befestigungsmöglichkeiten im Lieferumfang O kein LAN Kabel im Lieferumfang O PoE Injektor nicht spritzwassergeschützt O nur 5 Ghz Uplink - Inbetriebnahme nicht fehlerfrei Der UAP-AC M im Detail: --------------------------------- Von der sonst üblichen, runden Formgung der UniFi APs weicht der Mesh AP deutlich ab. Er ist länglich geformt und ca. 21 cm lang, ohne die beiden, mitgelieferten Antennen. Inklusive Antennen sind es 35 cm. Das Gehäuse besteht komplett aus Kunststoff und das Gewicht des Gerätes ist mit 152 Gramm sehr gering. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist solide, auch wenn ich der Meinung bin, das ein AC Pro oder ein NanoHD irgendwie wertiger wirken. Neben dem Gerät, den beiden anschraubbaren Antennen, einer Kurzanleitung, einer Rohrhalterung sowie einer Wandhalterung liegt dem Mesh AP der obligatorische PoE Injektor bei, der sich auch bei den normalen UniFi APs findet. Es handelt sich beim Injektor nicht um eine Version für den Außenbereich, er muss demnach witterungsgeschützt montiert werden. Das ist beim AP selbst nicht der Fall. Dieser ist spritzwassergeschützt und hält auch einer direkten Bewitterung stand, wie die teils heftigen Regenfälle der letzten Wochen bewiesen haben. Für die Montage sieht Ubiquiti entweder die Schraubbefestigung an einer Wand, die Befestigung mittels Kabelbindern an einem Rohr oder die Montage an der Rückseite einer Hochleistungsantenne des Herstellers vor. Kabelbinder und Dübel für die ersten beiden Befestigungsarten liegen bei. Ich habe den Mesh AP an der Regenrinne befestigt, das ging problemlos und er hält sicher. Durch die beiden dreh- und neigbaren Antennen lässt sich der AP nach der Montage noch an die örtlichen Gegebenheiten und den avisierten Ausleuchtungsschwerpunkt anpassen. Das ist gut gelöst. Die Einbindung ins Netzwerk gelang nicht problemlos, da der AP zwar auf Anhieb gefunden wurde, nach der ersten Provisionierung aber die Verbindung verweigerte. Erst nachdem er per LAN-Kabel verbunden wurde und der Wireless Uplink manuell konfiguriert wurde, stand die Verbindung. Danach lief der AP aber absolut stabil und dass auch mehrere Wochen ohne Neustart. Der Uplink des Mesh-APs wird immer über das 5 Ghz Band realisiert, das sollte man beachten. Für die Client Verbindung spannt der AP selbst aber sowohl ein 2,4 Ghz als auch ein 5 Ghz Netzwerk auf. Mit der 2 MIMO Anordnung schafft der AP laut Specs einen Durchsatz von 867 Mbps im 5 Ghz Band und 300 Mbps im 2,4 Ghz Band. In der Praxis konnte ich einen maximalen Real-Durchsatz von 287 Mbps mit einem WLAN-Gerät im 5 Ghz Band in ca. 5 Metern Entfernung zum AP ermitteln. Ein ausreichender Wert für den Außenbereich. Der Reichweitengewinn durch den Mesh AP ist ebenfalls deutlich. Selbst in gut 25 Metern Entfernung vom Haus zeigt das Smartphone noch eine Datenrate von 54 Mbit an. Ohne Mesh AP war an der gleichen Stelle kein Empfang des Netzwerks mehr möglich. Die Außenkameras, die bis dato immer mit Bandbreitenproblemen zu kämpfen hatten, liefern nun ein perfektes, unterbrechungsfreies Bild im Lifestream und genau dafür hatte ich den Mesh AP auch gekauft. Fazit: -------- Daher hat der Mesh AP seinen Zweck bei mir voll erfüllt. Die Reichweitensteigerung durch die Montage im Freien ist merklich und der Durchsatz trotz Wireless Uplink mehr als ausreichend. Das Gerät ist außerdem solide konstruiert und der zum Betrieb benötigte PoE Injektor wird mitgeliefert. Leider ist dieser nicht spritzwassergeschützt, was man bei der Montage bedenken sollte. Auch die Inbetriebnahme des APs lief nicht so einfach ab wie erwartet. Grund für einen Abzug in der Gesamtwertung sind die Kritikpunkte jedoch nicht, da der Mesh AP gerade bei den wichtigen Punkten Reichweite und Durchsatz überzeugt. Für mich hat sich der Kauf gelohnt und ich habe jetzt noch einen zweiten für die Rückseite des Hauses bestellt.
