Outstanding value at first glance
Ok Off Grid, I see you. I bought both the Scandinavian grind and the full flat grind knives. I never leave a first impression review as a rule. In this case I will. I bought the updates Cryo D2 with the 90° spines. Highly impressed at the unboxing. I'm a knife maker myself and do my own Kydex as well. The only mod I feel like a need to make on both these is to add a ferro rod and holder. Both were hair Poppin sharp right out of the box, and I'm really picky on production knives. Love the shape and blade height and thickness. Feels solid and looks great fit and finish. These both will be used extensively. Will update is anything goes wrong. PS the Scandinavian grind is a zero gring like it should be, no noticable secondary bevel. Great job. They remind my of a Kephart knife

Very surprised
Just received this Ridgeback & the Caiman XXL. This is just a 1st impression review on the Ridgeback. The knife is very good quality, made with quality materials & workmanship. The blade is stupid sharp right out of the box. It literally is as sharp out of box as any knife I have, which is a lot & many very expensive. It fits well in my L-XL hands & the blade is beefy & shaped/ground very well. The sheath is good quality & I appreciate the thumb ramp on it. I prefer sheaths to be higher quality/fit, however, for the price of this knife (<$60) both the knife & sheath are a great buy. If you're interested in this knife, don't wait, order it now.

Great Knife, fantastic customer service!
I’ve been looking for a heavy duty fix blade for a while, and this seems to fit the bill. Slicey enough to handle chores around the home and yard. The fit and finish are real good, and the price is more than reasonable for what you get. In fact, I like this knife so much, I’m going to buy a second one as a yard work dedicated knife. The customer service is outstanding. I reached out to Julie about a question I had and she answered my question and went above and beyond anything I could have expected. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality, price, and customer service that Off Grid provides. Will definitely be a returning customer.

Best knife I own.
It's a good, stainless Sandvik steel. It's thick enough for tough tasks, without weighing it down too much. Craftmanship is superb from the evenness and smoothness of the handle scales to the sharpness of the blade to the tip geometry. Care was apparently taken in it's creation, at least with my sample. I wish it was cheaper though, considering the steel isn't a super steel and is used in quality budget knives like the Morakniv. I'd say $45-$55 would be a better price range. But, I can't complain. It can last a lifetime if taken care of and not abused. If you only need 1 knife, this would be my choice along with a Morakniv as a backup or camp knife.

Nice knife..... if you can get it out of the sheath
I own several Off-Grid Knives..... all of them are well made, feel good in hand, come sharp out of the box, and this knife is no different. Having said that, the sheath this knife comes with is an absolute joke. Once the knife clicks into the sheath it takes a ridiculous amount of force to get it back out again. Pushing on the sheath with your thumb should be all the force required. I shouldn't have to take it off my belt, hold it with two hands, and pull as hard as possible to get it to move..... I've tried to loosen it without success. Until I can find a suitable alternate sheath, this knife will be sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Blade seems damaged. Screws missing.
After seeing the materials usedand reading so many glowing reviews I decided to purchase one of Off-Grid's knives. After inspecting it I found some very obvious scratches on one side of the blade, like someone had tried to sharpen it with something fairly course (I've included two pictures). Perhaps someone touched it to the wrong stone for the final buff?Apart from that cosmetic blunder it appears to be solidly made. The handle looks great, but could possibly used a bit more smoothing at the edges, which undoubtedly would add a bit to the price. It's not awful, just could be better. The sheath locks the knife in with an authoritative *click*, letting you know you've inserted it far enough to engage the lock, yet releases when enough pull is imployed to indicate you are definitely trying to retrieve it.It was, however, only held to the belt loop attachment with 2 out of four screws, both on the same side, indicating to me it wasn't a cost cutting decision but an oversight in assembly. The loop closes with velcro and has a snap as well, a very sturdy design feature employed by several manufacturers.Overall, I'd say it's a well designed and attempted production that's probably experiencing growth issues with quality control and perhaps finding competent employees for the less skilled aspects such as assembly of the sheath.Once they get the kinks worked out I believe these guys have the potential to be five stars across the board.

Great budget camp knife
Great factory edge. Very good hardness and edge retention. The scales are very comfortable and the sheath is of good quality. Performes all camp tasks with little effort. Absolute value for the money, especially if you can get it on sale.
