A friend
Woau, It's a journey that takes you to realize your dream about you're garden or allotment can be achieved. In my case, I moved house to live in another country totally with a different climate and soil so my little knowledge from my grandparents or parents it's couldn't be applied to growing successfully some plants here. I found a beat later this book after my crops are fully grow now. But I m really glad because it's feels like a friend took me on a journey to learn new things and eager to apply them from now on. Really good at understanding even though I'm a beginner at gardening and my first language is not English. Very good book on finding new ways to grow plants transforming in a beautiful garden with flowers only if you like. The writer find the way to touch you're heart only by reading about it. Really glad for it.

Great for newbies!
I really liked the whole book, it was well laid out and written as if you were there :)Love the humour and the easy to understand descriptions.Well worth the time to read and it will come in very handy when we have moved to our new place with a smaller garden. If you are new to all this, get it, you won’t regret it!

Reads like a novel
Very informative book if you are interested in growing your own food. The book is an easy read, and as the title suggests, it reads a bit like a novel, whilst teaching you on all the different ways on how to start and look after your garden.Would recommend

Encouraging for absolute beginners
This is, as promised, a good introduction to permaculture gardening for absolute beginners. The author aims to fill the beginner with confidence to ‘have a go’ and to feel able to start in small ways in any size of garden space.I found the chatty style too ‘folksy’ and sometimes condescending. I could have done with fewer jokes and more facts, presented in a more coherent structure. The tables at the end are useful. What this book does well is to give an overview of the ethos, possibilities and methods of permaculture and give you simple, practical ways of getting started. I now approach this as a relaxed journey of discovery and have already made a start with a 'no dig' bed.

A well written must have for anyone new or old in gardening.
I’m about half way through and although this review was prompted by the author with a QR code I’m more than happy to leave a positive review and recommendation for anyone with even a slight interest in gardening.I say the book is well written because It reads as a regular book such as your fiction novels but teaches you in an easy to understand manner that draws you in to keep reading. It’s a must read that helps you as the reader understand the meaning and ease of what being a permaculturist is. I was sceptical at first about learning permaculture thinking this is going to something very time consuming and costly, however, from reading so far it only takes slight changes in the way you think and act to make better choices.

I’m hooked!
I’ve just started work on a new allotment where traditional methods are being used all around me, some of which are good and some no so.This book is easy to read and full of information and inspiration that I needed. I can’t wait to put this knowledge into practice

Love growing? Buy it…. It’s a must!
This is a great book and I loved reading it. I have been looking into permaculture for while now and read a couple books etc…. But this book encompasses everything that I have learnt (and so much more) in an easy, logically laid out way - with humour. I love the writing style (who says gardening books should be boring?) and I have learnt so much. I would say it is a great beginners book and intermediates, but even a knowledgable permaculture-er can still learn from this book. This is the sort of book that I will keep to hand and keep referring back to it. I love the whole “eco system” principles and nothing goes to waste. There are so many great tips (that I would never have thought of) and the info is suitable for people that want to grow in a small patch in their garden or on a much larger scale. Defo, my new fav gardening book :)

It is important to know and be able to practice the wonderful knowledge in this book. I shall continue to use this book and share with the young people I mentor. Good practices like these are soon going to be vital.Great book
