Cooling fan for my 17" HP Pavilion was really noisy. I tried to clean it, several times, by using canned air. It would stop for a while but then comeback. All of this over a 2 month period. So I investigated for a replacement cooling fan. Received the fan in 1 day. Took apart my laptop, accessed my cooling fan and swapped it for the replacement. Exact fit. Put the laptop back together. Nice and quiet again.

Installed in my 2018 Beats edition HP. Booted up with no errors. Very happy with the product.

The CPU fan was damaged upon arrival. One of the support brackets was broken off and the metal sticker cover for the other mounting tab was not in place. Since I was in need of it for my laptop, I decided to keep it and install it. Fortunately the damage is minor and does not affect the overall performance of the cooling fan. So far it is doing well and very quiet.

Solved my laptop issue.

First one I received from Amazon was obviously a used item that had been repackaged and had a broken mount leg. Second one I got was new and better padded in the package. Fits and looks just like the original. Also included some thermal paste if you also want to redo the paste on the CPU that the heat pipe is attached to. This is not a simple install on many HP laptops (the fan and the paste). Find a video on youtube that is like your laptop for instructions. There are several different configurations. Very annoying install because the fan is under the motherboard. If the laptop had a bottom removable bottom panel it would be easy. But I guess HP wants us to buy a new computer. Anyway I got it all back together and it is much quieter than the old fan. We'll see how long it lasts.

The fan in my laptop was noisy even after cleaning and it didn't seem to be moving the air it should. Had to fully-disassemble the HP Beats 15 laptop to get at this beneath the motherboard but there was just one screw holding it in. Took time to vacuum the heat exchanger and make sure everything was dust-free before installing the new fan. The whole process took less than fifteen minutes - just watch out when removing the keyboard, it needs to be pried-free and several cables need to be removed before lifting it any more than an inch. With a new SSD drive and the new fan the laptop is super-quiet.
