I put one in my Corolla a couple of months ago. It is IMHO a toy that you can play with to fine tune the bass that you hear. If you like to fiddle with knobs and fine tune your sound, especially the bass, then it is worth the money and it does increase the bass output tremendously, but can also be too much and "muddy up" your sound which is why I say it is a toy to play around with. If you want a system that you set once and leave alone, then this is not what you want to spend money on as it takes a lot of experimenting to get the sound right.
