Sewing Knits from Fit to Finish: Proven Methods for Conventional Machine and Serger

I only received this book yesterday...though I had it pre-ordered from June of 2017... and I am already convinced that it is a book that will really help me! I am a reasonably able sewist, but I generally prefer wearing and sewing wovens, so I feel like a frightened beginner when it comes to knits.With Linda Lee's background I was hoping for some clarity with this book and I think that I found what I had hoped for! I have collected other books on sewing with knits, but they have mostly left me still feeling unclear. This book, I think, will help me finally turn the page on sewing with knits. The book is well planned and beautifully, clearly, illustrated with step-by-step instructions for sewing knits with a conventional home sewing machine as well as with a serger (just as the title says!A wide variety of knit fabrics are swatched and photographed for illustration...which I find very helpful. The only thing better would be to have fabric swatches in hand. I have considered taking an online class on sewing knits that does provide swatches to work with, but the swatches are a tad expensive for my budget and, in all honesty, it seems that knit fabrics are constantly evolving...as new forms of knits become available on the market so I have not yet talked myself into spring for the class. This book will do well to increase my understanding and ability to sew knit fabrics in the meantime.To me, this book will help help both already confident knit sewists as well as those of us who need just a bit more hand holding to build up our confidence! This s an excellent addition to my sewing library and was worth the wait!

When I received this book my initial impression was negative. I considered returning it but didn't. This book is very much geared towards those who are new to sewing knits. I think that some of the information is perhaps questionable, such as suggesting using a straight stitch to sew stretchy knits. The book has too many pretty pictures of completed garments and too few step-by-step photographs and instructions. I give the book four stars because it does include some simple, basic information for beginners.

And I rarely use the word "perfection"! An absolutely pristine copy of the book SWEING KNITS FROM FIT TO FINISH arrived today and and I couldn't be any happier. It is not often that I receive such an unblemished book from the secondary market. Thank you, BooksRun for your service and your high standards. I will gladly order from you again.

I am only giving this a 3 rating bc this book is not for me. It is however Avery comprehensive book for beginning sewers of knit. I am not. There is nothing In the book that I don’t already know. With that said I think a new sewer will appreciate this book as it has all the basics one needs to learn to sew with knits.

This is an insightful and easy to understand 'must read' for anyone beginning to sew knits. I'd been struggling for a few months and finally decided I needed a textbook! Yes, I'm a perfectionist. This book answered all of my questions and concerns. I actually sat down and read the entire book , cover to cover, in one sitting. It is very well written and illustrated.

Beautiful photos with descriptions of fabrics. Details on evaluating different types of knits is superb.

Very informative and layer out nicely. Very reader friendly. Anyone looking to work with knits should at least take a look at the contents and come away with knowledge to assist you in making a quality product.

I've followed Linda Lee for several years. I have several of her videos, and a number of her sewing tutorials. She is teaching me to sew correctly. So, it follows that I would want this book, Sewing Knits From Fit to Finish. It is well illustrated, and easy to read and understand.

Great book especially for those beginning to sew with knits.

I was a little wary sewing more with knits especially when drafting my own patterns but this book explained everything that I could need to sew up my designs. So glad I found this book!!!

Good basic overview on sewing knits. As a Sewista new to sewing knits I took the plunge and invested in the book to learn some tips and tricks on sewing knits. From my perusal of the book, it is more of a book for very basic sewing. I wish I had returned it.
