RoboDoc: The Creation of Robocop Double Disc Special Edition

Amazing pre-order that arrived just before Christmas. My husband was very happyI can't fault Amazon when it comes to pre-order items and came well packaged. If you have a partner who loves RoboCop I recommend this for sure!

Amazing documentary, I recommend this for any Robocop fan!!

As the longest in the making Fan made Documentary (Originally started as a Kickstarter back in 2015), this 4 hour plus (or 5 hours if you include the 60 mins extras) is by far the most indepth comprehensive made documentary on the original Robocop. It covers the entire movie in sequential order and has a very neat breakdown of all the key scenes. Featuring a momouth amount of 60 interviews from the Cast & Crew (that are still alive), even an interview with a kid who featured in a deleted scene. That is truly sheer dedication from the Filmmakers, aswell as the creation of the iconic lines which they got the original actors (who had not said them in 34 years to say them). Great bits of trivia included Arnold Schwarzenegger originally down for the Robocop Role aswell as Ray Wise who auditioned for the Murphy/Robocop part but got thug Leon Nash instead. This is the UK Bluray set so features great new Artwork on the cover (much better than that of the US Version, although that artwork is featured on the 2nd Disc aswell as one of the poster given with 4 new postcards. A very solid 10/10 with a fantastic title track "On the Streets" by New Arcades which features both on the opening titles aswell as end credits and also on the very clever interactive menus. They also have done a spectacular job on the soundtrack for the movie. The Filmmakers have announced that it will be getting sequels, part 2 (which is coming in late 2024 will cover the entire production of Robocop 2) with Part 3 and 4 covering Robocop 3 and the TV Series later on down the line. If you are a fan of Robocop, Science Fiction or Making of Movies, this is one not to be missed as it puts studio made documentaries to shame. Made lovingly by Fans for the Fans. Not to be missed.

When I learned of this Blu-ray I knew I had to own it as I am a huge RoboCop fan. Sadly it did not seem to come with the A4 poster or the 4 art cards, maybe I just missed something. Its not a deal breaker or a deduction in stars, the documentary is what I was really interested in and it delivers.

I've been a fan of movies and movie making for a long time, i've been a fan of robocop since i was a kid and have only loved it more as time passed. This documentary has only managed to make me love and appreciate the movie even more than i already did, but appreciate just how much love and effort went into it from everyone involved. From endearing anecdotes to fascinating looks at how the cookie was made, this is well worth the purchase and sinking back on a relaxing afternoon to absorb it all.Highly recommended to anyone with a love for this movie, or just an interest in behind the scenes in movies in general.

Robocop is in my top 10 Films ever. I have watched it and bought it more times than I can remember, when I heard about this documentary I had to watch it. It is not the documentary I was hoping for, it was so much more. I'm not going to give anything away, but if you like or love Robocop like I do, you must buy this.

A MUST for every ROBOCOP fan.

Easily one of the best documentaries I've seen. Superbly put together with a great theme that grasps both the movie and the time it was made, really well. Interviews, behind the scenes footage, how the team worked together and a great insight into everything that went into making this masterpiece. If you love the original Robocop and are even just a little interested in how the film was made, then this is a must buy!

5 sterren. geweldige docu over het maken van de film RoboCop [1987] van Paul Verhoeven. Deze mooie making of gaat gedetailleerd in op zo ongeveer alle aspecten van het maken van deze film en heeft heeeel veel interviews met (nog levende) sterren van deze film en de makers ervan. Zelfs Paul Verhoeven (regisseur) zelf komt aan het woord. Let op deze film / docu is niet (NL) ondertiteld, ook niet in het engels.Detail wat ik zelf als nederlander grappig vind, is dat er maar 2 mensen in de docu zitten die de achternaam van regisseur Paul Verhoeven op de juiste Nederlandse (dutch) wijze uitspreken, waaronder Peter Weller die 'Robo' speelde. Er daarnaast is in de extras nog een dame (actrice) die ook Verhoeven op zijn NL uitspreekt.Deze docu is een aanrader voor elke doorgewinterde RoboCop [1987] fan, die de engelse taal machtig is.

I'd been on the fence slightly in purchasing this one, but hey, I'm a massive Robocop fan, not to mention Peter Weller and Paul Verhoeven fan so I had to at the very least give it a try.Well I am so very glad I did and many special thanks go out to Christopher Griffiths and Eastwood Allen, 2 terrific fellow fans who went all out and created not just a 30 - 60 minute documentary with a few special features sprinkled on but 4 hours of serious documentary with the kind of detail that fans crave. A superb blend of writers, directors, special effects crew, model and puppetry creators, artists, practically every actor who made this film the lightning in a bottle it has become. To this day, I collect all the figures, comics, films and books etc that come out on Robocop. Robo is simply the most Cyberpunk classic figure ever created. The Terminator was amazing but Robocop was something special and every person who created the film, although going through tremendous hardship to create the masterpiece simply can't deny the power of it's legacy. It's a terrific example of hard work paying off.The documentary will keep you glued to the screen and the special features are actually all greatfully received.I'll be there with the cash, the next time Christopher and Eastwood decide to embark on another creation. If they dare to approach Blade Runner, they will become mega legends indeed(not that there not already thanks to the great work they did on this stunning documentary.)Highly recommended for ALL Robocop fans. It's an absolute must and features aspects I was hoping for on the special features of the film releases. Well now those special features are more than just a dream.Many thanks to the creators, the writers, the producers, the directors, the actors, the special effects crew, the model builders, the puppeteers, the sound track creators, everyone who made this possible, you have given fans a real treasure here.
