Purchased for 4 year old. Putting the track together was a grandma task, but once together, grandson enjoyed playing with it. Good quality. The wood and magnets seem like they will last the lifetime of the train set.

This is a really neat little set and it fits with all of our other wooden train track sets. One thing I didn't like was the instructions, they were sort of hard to follow. I also don't like the feeling of the wood pieces, they are not smooth. They are rough like sand paper. Speaking of which, I think someone forgot the sand paper. so far no splinters or anything like that, just really rough feeling. they do lock together nice and tight and don't come apart.

My one year old is obsessed with all things trains. So, it was a no brainer to pick up a classic wooden train set for him as he closed in on his second birthday. Fortunately, this set lives up to all of the hallmarks I remember for the wooden train sets I played with as a kid... and at a very reasonable price point! This set has pieces that interlock easily, and the train cars fit and roll as expected on the tracks. The result is hours of fun making unique creations for the trains to weave and wind their way through, which brings a smile to my son's face.I suspect this little train set will last as long as the ones that we handed down after I had used them as years in my childhood. That means plenty of joy and fun will be had by my kids until we reach that point. So, 5/5 stars it is!

This train set contains 24 track pieces, including y’s and a splitter. Combining it with a larger set adds several track layout options.

The grandkids and I have watched real trains travel down the tracks every day, and the kids are fascinated by them. This wooden set is perfect for our 2 1/2-year old because it is fun to pretend to "drive" a train. The instructions gave a clear listing of what was included in the set, and everything was as it should be. The instructions were also very clear in a suggestion of how to assemble the set using all the pieces we had available. (I appreciate that this set is compatible with other wooden train sets on the market so we can add to our tracks or train cars if desired.) To keep things interesting, other wooden pieces were included that you might see along a railroad track, like farm animals, people, buildings, trees, etc. Not all of these accessories were scaled to size correctly, as we have a very large chicken and pig compared to the train engine and cars. However, maybe that is ok, because the kids can feel free to add their other toy set pieces to the railroad play set for more fun and pretending. The set is well made, so the younger grandkids will have their turn and the 2 1/2 year old can show them how it's done. I would recommend this beginner train set.

This is a good train set to introduce kids to. There are lots of tracks to build a route from. Most of the components are made of wood, giving it a quality touch compared to plastic. The baby was able to play with the components without choking on the small pieces. It’s for an older toddler but under supervision, the baby was able to play (destroys it) with it when it’s set up for her.

This is the perfect toy train set for those who want to bring out the creativity in their children and keep them protected with safe non toxic toys that don't need batteries. High quality natural wood track with train cars painted with non toxic paint. The landscape is made of foam and the two tunnel pieces are plastic. The train cars themselves connect with small magnets attached to each car. The track pieces are easy to fit together and their is no set layout. The only limit is your child's imagination. There is an assortment of various farm animals and buildings included. I like that this set is compatible with other brands of similar train sets so it can be expanded upon. It's nice to hear the kids playing and making their own sounds and noises and not listening to some electronic sounds being generated. Old school playtime is just better sometimes. I saw it today with 9% off which makes it a good value for the money.

This train set is a nice quality and is perfect for young children who like puzzles. I got this for my 3 year old niece because she enjoys building sets and then I am excited for her to be able to play with the Choo Choo train.It's very easy to put together and makes a great gift!
