I purchased this dog food as an alternative for my dogs regular food. She tends to get bored of a food after a few months and then we need to swap for a while. She has both beef and wheat allergies though so our choices are more limited but this Skinners Field and Trial food with its hypoallergenic, single chicken protein source and wheat free recipe seemed ideal.The bag it comes in is not resealable so I empty it into an airtight container and store in there to keep it fresher for longer. There's a very light aroma when you open the bag but it's not unpleasant.The kibble pieces are shaped like extra large grains of rice and like most kibble they're hard and crunchy and help with dental health. Each kibble piece is roughly onky 1.3cm long so they're suitable for all sizes of dog, which is great if you have a multi dog household with different breeds as they can all be fed the same food.The ingredients are good. I usually prefer a food with a slightly higher meat content although this content is decent for a dry food. I like that it contains brown rice instead of white as although the food is quite high in carbs, being brown rice, it is slow release energy and does not cause the same blood sugar spikes as white rice. Something which we have had issues with in the past as that seemed to cause episodes of hyperactivity in our dog.I've not tasted it obviously, but my dog seems to approve and enjoy it so that's good enough for me. If she likes it, I'm happy.At the current price this Skinners Field And Trial food is excellent value for money. Especially since being made with good ingredients means the daily serving suggestion is lower than some other lesser quality kibbles meaning you end up feeding a smaller amount so it actually lasts longer.It's certainly one of the better foods we've tried and at a great price too. My dog is doing fine on it with no tummy upsets or sloppy deposits so I'm more than happy to stick with this until my dog fancies a change again.

For the price its probably one of the better dog food in terms of nutrition - not the best but certainly not bad. Dogs love it too (whippets)

This is a complete meal for my grandoggy, having all the appropriate vitamins and nutrients that he needs, he’s a very lively, healthy springer spaniel and this is on a subscription delivery so it doesn’t run out.I would definitely recommend this (but not the chocolate he’s managed to find and eat) it’s cost my daughter £180 in a vet bill so any chocolate has to be under lock and key 😳.

God food, dog enjoys and good price. What more can you say.

The difference in my dogs since starting this food is amazing.I used to feed my dogs burns (I have 4 dogs) - but as the bags got smaller & the quality changed (started being very very very crumbly - till about a fifth of the bag was useable) - I switched to a step up naturals grain free - one of my dogs is very sensitive frenchie - , she started searching & scavenging outside, her anxiety worsened & her coat changed> It stupid to say I did not put 2 & 2 together straight away (as I had slowly changed all my dogs over). The penny dropped finally after a really bad walk & I looked around for something else.The skinners website is amazing huge amount of information & advice so I tried this after filling in their questionnaire.Absolutely game changing - she has stopped scavenging, coat is back to normal & her wee anxiousl behaviour has improved no end. I cannot recommend this enough. I am so glad I have found this food for my dogs (2 x bostons & 2 x frenchies)
