Magnum Lock-Trad 6-In-Line Guitar Tuners, Cosmo Black

Exactly as expected...they are Gotoh locking tuners. Easy swap, well constructed, and function perfectly. Locking tuners aren't intended to enhance tuning stability, but the make string changes quick and easy. These are screw locking with a central post, not the Mag lock style, so they are less expensive than the common Gotoh lock style. They make an excellent upgrade for an Ibanez RG or S series in the middle of their price range. You will have to drill pilot holes for the tiny screw on the back, as these don't have the locking nubs the stock tuners use, so you will alter your headstock unless you are replacing screw in tuners to start with.

Do you hate fiddling with the fine tuners and locking nut on your Floyd Rose-equipped guitar? Then grab a phillips-head screwdriver and a set of these bad boys. Easy drop-ins on my JS32 King V. I love how the neck on my Jackson feels, I love the frets and I love dive bombs, but the Jackson branded locknut was a pain, so I grabbed a set of these, and with the addition of a non-Jackson Floyd Rose, my King V stays in tune better than ever, and when I lose tuning, it's easy to fix. Hate the fine tuners? Screw them flat and tune from the headstock. Helps you detune a floating Floyd Rose to Drop D quick, too. I also have a set of these for my ESP LTD MH in Chrome, and a 3x4 set on my Jackson DK2 Modern Ash FR7. Also makes string-changes a breeze. With a Floyd, I feed the string through the tuner, down to the saddles, and lock them in place, then pull the string taut, lock it at the tuner, tune up to pitch, then cut the ball end of the string at the top.

Fit the Wizard 3 neck on my Ibanez S521 perfectly without any drilling or mods. Great locking tuners. Love the gunmetal finish matches the rest of my hardware. Makes string changes so much easier. Recommended.

These were an exact replacement for my older Squier Strat, no drilling required as the existing holes lined up perfectly. These Gotohs might have an ever so slightly larger diameter post than the originals, they seemed to be just a bit tighter to me with little resulting slop, but I didn't mic them. From a functional perspective, these work great. I put a set of .007 strings on when I swapped these in and no problem at all with slipping on any of the gauges. These are so much better than the non-locking tuners, all strings tuned up with somewhere around a 1/2 turn. The Cosmo Black looks fantastic, in my opinion nicer than the chrome but not so dramatic as I think black would be.

These are a great fit for my Fender Custom Telecaster FTM HH. Not a perfect replacement like Fender locking tuners, but they fit with a little extra work because of those screws. The color matched the original tuning pegs. I couldn’t find Fender tuning pegs matching this color. They came in a plastic wrap. No instructions. But it wasn’t too bad to figure out. Just be aware they are staggered.

I replaced the original tuning machines I had on my Ibanez RG270 DX with these, and I can't believe I didn't do this when I first got the guitar. HUGE DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY. Changing strings went from being cumbersome to fun and easy. The Gotoh locks the strings in place and holds the tuning very well. They are a bit pricey, but honestly it's well worth it even if you're mildly serious about playing guitar. I'd recommend these.
