Poor quality scans of 35mm negatives
I wanted to digitize a large number of 35mm film negatives. I had already tried using an old flatbed scanner for the developed photos, but results were not great quality. I also tried the flatbed scanner with the negatives, which was much better but painfully slow. Finally I took some to a shop to scan, but the costs for doing them all that way would really mount up.So I thought this Diginow! product would be a better and more cost effective solution. Unfortunately 'scans' are objectively poor compared with what can be achieved from the same source material, and the high MP count is meaningless. I would not consider this unit's copies anywhere near good enough to archive photos to digital. I gave up and returned it.Pros+ Compact, OK screen for preview, & simple to use+ It takes a pic and 'positives' it rather than performing an actual 'scan', so is instant to view and quick to copy.+ Can power from a PC's USB port, and whilst you cannot manage scans directly from a PC you can then switch to transfer mode to see captured images on the device's storage from the PC.Cons- Can be very frustrating to feed in negatives, which often jam.- The Cartridge adapter that holds the film does not feel like it would survive repeated swapping over of adapters.- Main problem is poor scan quality. 22 megapixel (MP) is nonsense as it's interpolated so worse than a 14 MP scan. Native 14 MP scan does not mean much when the sensor taking the picture is not good. Just to put some perspective on this, I tested image quality for multiple images using the *same* set of negatives:1/ Best: Original negative scanned to digital by a professional scan unit at a snappily-named high street chain (6MP scan).2/ OK: Same negatives scanned with the negative adapter on an old Epson 2580 flatbed scanner (6MP file).3/ Not too bad: The original photo, already developed from that negative years ago, scanned on a flatbed scanner at home at 300dpi. (3MP file).4/ Poor: This DigitNow negative scanner produced a noticeably worse, ill-defined scan losing much detail despite being 12MP.Maybe if image quality is unimportant it's fine, but in that case why not buy a cheaper option or even one that's just a platform for your mobile phone? But if you do care about quality then you either need to buy a far more expensive unit, or get them scanned by a shop with pro equipment.

Better than I expected. Very Happy Customer
I must admit it ordered this with a bit of trepidation, however I am pleased to have been proven wrong. This is a great device (admittedly I've only tried using it direct to sd card) but have no complaints whatsoever. Scanned over 200 slides in a few hours and am actually very surprised at the sheer quality of the results, my comparison is the Nikon unit I used to own and this is as good.

Disappointing
I scanned a few slides and negatives that had been scanned previously by other means. The results were not very sharp - probably a focus issue. Also, when scanning 126 negatives the top was chopped off - the mount was not designed for this size film despite being advertised as supported. I actually quite liked the device itself but the performance let it down. Returned for refund.

Works like a charm.
I have 2000 negatives to scan. Just tried this scanner and it works really well. It is very simple to use. Being able to see slides that we never saw when Mom and Dad were young.
