This item is perfectly OK as a food cover. It looks nice, though the handle was not fitted dead centrally. The handle is shiny plastic -the sort where the shine will eventually rub off to reveal a whitish plastic underneath- and the mesh and rim have been plastic spray-coated and presumably the underlying metal will be a non-rust proof steel. All these comments are not even criticisms because at this price I think this manufacturing standard is quite acceptable. If you want solid stainless steel then you will be paying a lot more. There are no instructions with it so I guess gentle hand washing is sensible. I have a feeling a dishwasher might damage it eventually if not immediately. In fact I bought this not as a food cover, but as a protection over a goldfish bowl. Tom, Dick and Harry (three cats) are quite interested in Fish and Chips, the two new aquatic arrivals. The cover fits very well and to stop it sliding on the smooth glass I have glued thin non slip rubber matting, cut into narrow strips. It is now very stable and should resist the casual paw swipe, if the cats are bright enough to figure out that it is a lid and not a solid part of the bowl (doubtful). If this falls apart in the not too distant future I'd be very happy to buy another -I think it's good value. AA PS It arrived very promptly and in good condition. No cause for complaint at all.

Excellent quality wide and sturdy

Item was delivered in too small a box and the dome had to be pushed in, in order for the box to be sealed. However, I was able to push it back into shape. Mine has the proper stylish black handle not the cheap silver one people have complained about. Bought it to protect my meals from my springer spaniel and it does the job. He is still working out what it is, by the time I get back to the table!

Great item.Really does what it is supposed to, it is a good size , sturdy and means there are no gaps which the folding ones get.

It is reasonably well made but does not protect fruit from fruit flies.

Nice and sturdy and fit into each other easily for storage. I have a few collapsible food covers but they are very thin and cheap. I also have sprung pop up ones that don't want to stay in the cupboard but these are perfect. They cover a dinner plate for when we are about to have dinner and not everybody turns up. I have ordered more of the other size. Some people have complained about the handle- it's a loop like a large keying, the ones on the picture look cheap and plastic and they wouldn't stack very well but the key ring hoop is perfect. Update. I now have 4 of each size, they are great and used more often than I thought they would be. Highly recommended

Empezarmos comprando una grande para nuestra casa y vamos por la cuarta...dos para nosotros y día para mis padres. Tenemos los dos tamaños y van muy bien, el grande es bastante grande pero muy útil porque siempre hay algún plato o fuente que al final no lo tapas con nada porque todo es pequeño.A mi me parece un producto muy recomendable.Ligero y práctico, lo tenemos en la cocina y siempre hay algo que tapar con ellos.
