Ridgeway XT40 (Route Maps) (Trail Map XT40)

This map covers the whole 85 miles of The Ridgeway in 1:40,000 scale. This gives you enough detail to plan the whole route including nearby pubs, public transport, and so on. In fact, in some ways it's easier not having the distraction of the more distant countryside you would find on an Ordnance Survey map. The route is split into sections to fit everything on to the sheet, and it's easy to move from one to the next.Printed on waterproof polyethylene, it's weatherproof, and comes packed in a clear wallet for even more convenience. It's much lighter and more compact than the corresponding Ordnance Survey Active Explorer maps that are laminated (and 1:25,000 scale, to be fair.)Considering the Ridgeway like other National Paths is clearly sign-posted, you don't need very detailed maps to find your way, and this is a very convenient solution for walking these popular trails.

Another excellent map by Harvey Maps - the robust fell and construction is always a deciding factor when buying maps - we plan to use this one for a bike ride, so it needs to cope with a fair bit of rough and tumble.

Rode the entire ridgeway using this for route. Excellent map, good quality and waterproof.

This map has all the information that you need to navigate the Ridgeway from end to end.It much lighter to carry than all the equivalent OS maps and made of a much tougher material. The only disadvantage, as with any strip map, is if you need to leave the designated route.

This is exactly what I needed for a ride along the Ridgeway. It's polythene, so getting it wet doesn't matter, and it feels durable without being bulky. It focuses on the path but shows enough of the surrounding area. it also shows alternative routes for bikes where the path switches to pedestrian only.
