When I took the AstroAI S8 out of the packaging, I looked at the unit and said to myself "you're kidding me this will never work but whatev's I'll give it a try". Boy was I wrong, this jump starter nails it every time. Early am, I took my dogs to the beach, returned, opened the lift gate, the pups jumped in and that was it, out of nowhere the battery died.....literally nothing was working. Got a jump and was back on the road. Back home, left it over night same thing. Luckily, I thought this would be a good time to buy a jump starter, cause you never know. I'd been toying with it for a while and already have a tire inflator/pressure monitor as a 'just in case'. Honestly, I didn't expect this to happen again but it did. My car is only a few years old, it's a BMW X5 4.0i. The jump charger not only needs to be able to crank & spark the engine but power-up all the monitors/heads-up display/driving/safety/management/seat passenger detectors/climate/level & motion sensors and way more stuff/systems in tandem with cranking the engine. By-Jove....it can do all of it, the car starts without any hesitation. Unfortunately, from a dead battery, the default is for all the electronics to fire up at once, so there's no 'lite start' option. I was really surprised. Useability is a sinch. Plug-in the jumper cables to the AstroAI S8 unit, pop the hood, connect the cables to the vehicle contacts (a tiny green LED by the Boost button start flashing), press the 'Boost' button at the base of the cables, get behind the wheel and start the car. I couldn't tell the difference between the jump start and regular start. It can even start the car with less than 75% charge. I can expect at least 4-5 starts from the device. It charges from a standard USB port (USB A) and when it's fully topped-up it stops charging. I'm not sure if this makes a difference but I should point-out the car was jumped from designated contact points, not the battery. Also, as soon as I press the 'boost' button I can hear the car come to life and go through some sort of boot-up. By the time I get behind the wheel, my key is detected, everything is as normal and start the vehicle. There was an instance whereby the alarm went off, I just hit 'unlock' on the fob and that did the trick. On the downside, the jumper cables seem a little short (I had no problem reaching my car's contact points) and you will have no problems jumping the battery directly. Although, I've see in some vehicles the contact points are more than 18in apart, this will require some sort of extension. As a blanket synopsis: The AstroAI S8 works great, it easily starts a super systems-power hungry vehicle w. a 3.0 inline 6.

Can I give this product ten stars?! My truck had been struggling to start, and I ended up calling AAA twice in one week for jump starts. I saw this product on Amazon and debated whether to buy it, and finally decided to purchase it. When my truck didn't start again today, I pulled out my jump starter—and it fired right up instantly! I was honestly skeptical because the device is so small, but it delivered immediate results. It’s simple to recharge (just plug it into any USB port) and comes with a convenient pouch that fits perfectly in my truck for easy storage. The jumper cables are just the right size and feel well-made. It even includes a built-in flashlight, which I didn’t need this time but can definitely see being useful in an emergency. This jump starter is worth every penny for the peace of mind alone. I’m so glad I bought it!

Excellent product! Compact, would fit in the glove box, but I've been keeping it in my purse so as not to leave it in a cold car. I bought it just over a week ago and it has saved us three times already (my car is having issues that drain the battery, exacerbated by the cold weather). The charger came partially charged, but I charged it to 100% before using, and each time I used it it used 25% of the charge. I haven't tried using it at 50% or lower yet though. The best part is that it's super fast, way faster than jumping from another car - just plug in the jumper cables, attach them, and the car turns on right away. Very happy with this product, I would recommend to others!

Used for the first time in the Texas cold of 55 degrees. Had a full charged and took two attempts as first time pressing boost only slowly spun motor. Second time pressing boost it spun my motor fine but only showed 25% battery remaining. Had no trouble starting a 6.2L gas v8 with moderate aftermarket cam Worth the buy for the price and can comfortably say it should have no problem starting most normal v8 trucks

I ordered this AstroAI S8 battery a little over a year ago. Its primary purpose would be to have an option for jumpstarting the battery in my 2004 Lexus ES330, and its secondary purpose would be to have an option for charging my phone or other portable electronic devices. At that time in late 2024, I was transitioning to a new vehicle but was keeping the 2004 Lexus as a backup. Because I wouldn't be driving the 2004 Lexus much, I felt the need to have an external battery option for jumpstarting the car battery. I haven't had to use this until now, but man am I glad I had this. After fully charging it when I received it, it had been sitting in the vehicle unused for the past 12+ months. I don't recall if I ever recharged it during the past 12 months. Regardless though, it seemed to hold a charge pretty well. I had to use it this past weekend and it appeared fully charged. The first attempt at starting the car was unsuccessful, and it did use up ~25% of the battery. I was worried that the issue wasn't a dead battery but something more significant. However, after exploring other possibilities, I decided to give the jumpstart another shot. This time it worked perfectly and the engine started up! This was really easy to use and it came in clutch. Nothing more I could ask for. Just be aware that each attempt at jumpstarting may use about 25% of the charge, so realistically you have 4 attempts at most before this external battery is drained.

Initial Thought: Amazing! I just got this S8 1500 had a great deal for Black Friday. I was looking at some other brands that seemed more expensive and heard that they were more reliable, but I figured I’d roll the dice since this was less than half the price of those other ones and seemed like a great deal with plenty of the safety features at the more high-end jumpers offer. I just got it in the mail the other day and had it charging last night. I have a fairly small Hyundai ELANTRA and have had friends where their batteries have died as well and it’s always caused an issue to go get the new one and install it, etc. or having to tow it if it’s in a really awkward spot. I wanted to completely avoid this and was satisfied with my purchase, but hadn’t gotten a chance to use it yet. Ironically, the night after I had it charged all the way up I threw it in the trunk of my car and when I went to the gas station later that day, I saw a big jacked up truck that’s battery had died (not sure the engine or if it was diesel or not though sorry). I saw these two guys trying to jump the big truck with a smaller car, and they had also already tried using a portable jump, starter, similar to this one with no success. I figured it would be a great time to try this out and try to help them, so I plugged it up and it was very simple to flip onto the battery. I noticed sparks on the Red side of the cable so I knew that it was connected and live so I had the guy try to start the truck, but still no luck. Before giving up though, I pressed the “boost” button with the green light next to it and BAM! The big truck started up right away and turned over normal! I’m really impressed with this little thing and especially the boost feature. Since I got to use it the first day that I had it charged and literally watched another car and another small portable jump starter both fail before using this one with success. Absolutely worth the price! I’m sure that it will easily start up my car and my girlfriend SUV.
