Jaw Protectors for 10" Cobra® Pliers (8709250V01)

Plastic is mostly hard but will prevent scratching, but maybe not so good for preventing slipping but it does have some grip. I'm very happy that they fit three different brands: Pittsburgh, Husky, and Stanley. Would not fit on Kobalt as the Kobalt was too thick and wide at the jaws. For all three that it fit above, I did have to push hard against the floor to get them on.

I was worried they'd be loose, but they hold well when slid on. I haven't used them yet but they should be fine. I didn't really realize I'd get a pack of 6 so I'm set for years, since I usually use the pliers without them. The package shows these are for the curved slot (newer) version, which suits my several year old 10" water pump pliers (Craftsman branded Knipex). See the picture. Update: I left the jaw protectors on my water pump pliers and after a few weeks, when I needed the grip of the jaws, I took them off and found rust (see the picture). This tool was kept in a dry location so I figure this can cause a problem for anyone. Be aware. Also, I found they fit pretty good on the Wiha 10" pliers. If I do want to leave them on, I'll have to find something to coat the jaws with.

They work well, just don't expect to get much grip out of them. The teeth of the knipex go through the rubber if you're trying to really tighten or losses something. You're better off getting a terry cloth and using regular teeth

Fit on Non Chromed Channel Lock 12 inch and 9-3/4” Pliers

When you need to work without leaving marks, these are the ticket. Very durable so far (several months use).

These fit my channel lock water-pump pliers perfectly much less expensive and don’t leave marks on chrome plated close nipples.

I don't get it. I thought these would be a bit sticky so they would help grip the surface of the thing you are turning. They are not - they are a hard-ish plastic that's actually a bit slippery. So while it's true that they might prevent the workpiece from being scratched, they are of no help at all in actually turning it! Since typically if you're trying to prevent something from being scratched while turning it, it's smooth and shiny (not to mention round), these are completely and utterly pointless.

These work great for converting knipex cobra pliers to cannon plug pliers with out paying the price for specialized tooling. They grip well without damaging the connectors.

They fit the Cobras correctly but I've found that the teeth can bite through the plastic.
