Might fit your machine differently
I love that I have a dough hook now. I love that it's stainless steel so I don't have to worry about the paint chipping off (have heard of examples that did). It doesn't quite reach the bottom of my mixer bowl, which doesn't lift but is the right size. So I have to stop it a couple minutes in and scrape the bottom to make sure it mixes all the ingredients in. If you let it "knead" too long, the dough climbs up the hook and starts winding around where it attaches, which I don't love (my mom never had these problems with her KitchenAid lift-bowl 5-qt with KitchenAid attachments). However, it does make mixing bread dough easier and I couldn't find one without painted finish for a long time.

A Steal in Stainless Steel
I bought this dough hook and a beater blade by the same manufacturer to replace the enameled ones that came with my Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer. The enamel was chipping on the Kitchenaid attachments, and I wanted to replace them with stainless steel ones. Kitchenaid offers a 3-piece stainless steel replacement attachment set, but I did not want to pay approximately one hundred dollars for that.This dough hook functions beautifully and cleans easily. Sometimes the dough creeps up it, but I am not that bothered by that. I've used it several times already to make pizza dough, French rolls, and oatmeal bread, and I'm happy with it.

My most used tool!
I love this dough hook! It fit my kitchen aid perfectly and the quality will last a lifetime. It’s durable and easy to clean, unlike some of the coated dough hooks available on the market. This was a great deal and works great!

Works great!
I am very happy I upgraded to stainless steel for my kitchen aid. The ones that came with my kitchen aid had started "shedding" the white coating. This works great.
