Record PowerBS250AW Stand and Wheelkit for BS250

There are almost too many problems to list with this stand, but here are a few: (1) the stand is ridiculously difficult to assemble due to bad design placing lots of nuts and bolts in close proximity to each other making them difficult to get to with a spanner or socket, (2) the absolute dire quality of the instructions provided, which have not taken account of some of the obvious changes in parts, (3) once assembled the stand is lightweight and flimsy and is simply not capable of holding the bandsaw securely, (4) its relatively small footprint further adds to the instability of the saw in use, (5) I am only 1.7 metres tall, but the low height of the stand, some 22 cm lower than my Sjobergs woodwork bench, means that the table of the bandsaw is at an uncomfortably low work height even for me, but if the stand was any taller it would be dangerously unstable, (6) mounted on this stand, the saw vibrates a lot during use, making accurate work difficult, if not impossible. Problems 3, 4, 5 and 6 are all completely resolved by moving the saw to a normal height workbench.In short I do not think this stand is fit for purpose and is potentially unsafe.

A useful and solid bit of kit. It cuts quickly and accurately. However take extreme care when ordering one on line. I had two delivered both of which had damaged motor covers. The machine is heavy and the motor cover sticks out. There is no protection for it so that careless handling during delivery damages it very easily. I finally went and checked one at a warehouse depot and then took it away. You could of course go to a good tool shop if you have one. I have written to Record about this and they say they will sort it out. Record sent me 3 more band saw blades to mollify me.

Excellent product but its a pity the build instructions could have been cleared but apart from that thoroughly pleased

This was bought as a used item at about £20 less than new. It arrived within 48 hrs, with all parts intact and included full instructions. Assembled easily ( although you should note the guidance not to tighten the bolt s fully until assemble complete) and looks as it has never been used.Very pleased with the kit.

Product arrived before stated delivery date well made sturdy only problem fitting bandsaw on to stand was doing this myself would be ok if two people used to fit
