Surprisingly good game
Bought for a Ken Follet fan as a bit of fun, but was surprised by how good this worker placement style game actually is. Initial rules might seem overwhelming but you get the hang of them after the first play though. Could do with an expansion for more worker and event cards to keep it interesting, however.

A great game by Ken
A great game that was out of print for ages. I like the quality of the kosmos version. Easy to teach and play with some excellent mechanics

Just incredible
I am a huge Ken Follett fan so I am quite biased, but I must say, this game is brilliant. For Follett fans it's incredible. If you don't know the book and / or the series, you can still enjoy it (at least my boyfriend liked it), but it's much better when you're familiar with it.

Weak game trading on a brand /author
The components are really quite sub standard (large buildings that don't add any real substance), and the game play is rather weak, sadly unengaging and boring. For the price you may consider buying this, but we play a lot of varied games, and this one has got two outings with different audiences and will just gather dust from now on. No real challenge and not much fun. Shame.

Excellent light worker placement, a deal of luck involved but highly enjoyable!

Very fun game
This is one of the best worker placement games I have played. The mechanics are creative and fit the theme of the game and the board is beautiful. The rules suggest you start playing and read the rules as you go (once you've set up) and that is unique and worked well.

Great game!! Dreadful shipping/handling
The game itself is fantastic and I absolutely recommend it. However no packing materials were used just a plastic postage bag and as a result box is damaged, so much so, I had to replace the box.

Great game that matches the book
Fun, two-hour, game for up to four players with many different strategies to accumulate victory points.Having loved the book series I really enjoyed how well the game brings in characters, production and problems from the books into the game.Plays quite differently with three versus four players but both are fun.

Classic game in all its glory
Great thematic ties to the book. This game was very difficult/expensive to come by for a long while, but thankfully you can finally get it for a reasonable price. One of my favorite worker placement style games with a few interesting twists. Very solid, not too long, great production and look. Highly recommend.

Great Worker Placement game
This was my first worker placement game. I've seen it referred to as the quintessential game with that mechanic that everyone should have on their shelf and I agree. It plays great at 3-4 players. I've heard it's a little flawed at 2 players but have never played it that way. The instructions are really well done. The coolest thing about them is they tell you to set the game up and then just sorta start playing and read as you go. I think that is a great way to "teach" a game. I highly recommend it.
