This is low strength. I would choose at least a medium strength silicone sealer.

Will this work to seal the top on a raised roof van?

3M Marine 4000 UV Adhesive is an excellent UV resistant caulk. The 4000 is especially designed for fiberglas and teak. If you want the toughest structural waterproof joint use the 3M 5200. Do not use the 5200 if you plan to take the raised part off. Once cured the 5200 forms a tenacious glued together joint.

does this caulk contain polyurethan?

No, unless it goes by another name. I did not see it listed on the label. -Jim
